Last Film You Watched

Think you were a bit braver than me with the choices! I went more mainstream before the arthouse came out - Saying that, I did try Under the Skin with her and she hated it - I think it's absolute genius

ha! other way round with that one: I thought Under the Skin was average (tho' I loved the musik), whereas she thought it was brilliant!

Likewise, she's opened my eyes to a fair bit of good cinema, she has good taste

What have you discovered through your missus, Prev?

I often do this with my missus too, with a lot of the films you lads mention here. Have introduced her to the Godfather, Alien, Aliens, Moon, 2001, Blade Runner, Children of Men, Glengarry Glenross, Star Wars:Rogue One, Rain Man, LA Confidential.

She's enjoyed almost all of them, though frustratingly only thought Alien was okay. Likewise, she's opened my eyes to a fair bit of good cinema, she has good taste

That's a belting list - She had seen all the Alien films (older brother was a megafan) - Weirdly, neither her or I have ever seen Rain man!

Next week is a trade off - If I watch Little Shop of Horrors for her, she'll watch Close Encounters for me

Spielberg was on fire: Duel, Jaws & Close Encounters are an incredible early body of work. He was still good later on but them three are for me his best films.

I suppose it is a very Marmitey film - I just find it a bit hypnotizing

Based on that, I think you might like Kontroll, I wouldn't watch any trailors or read too much beforehand, but deffo watch in original Hungarian with subs:

Cheers mate - Will stick that on the list - Got 'You Were Never Really Here' for tonight

Off the top of my head; Grease, Breakfast Club, Still Alice, Almost Famous, Muppets Christmas Carol. One of her best contributions was making me watch Spy a few months back, a Melissa McCarthy film I would never have otherwise looked twice at. It was proper gut wrenchingly funny, I ended up loving it.

My girlfriend loves documentaries, she'll watch anything that's about anything. I've seen almost everything Louis Theroux has to offer through her. I couldn't tell you which documentaries she has seen before and which ones we've watched together for the first time. We polished Wild Wild Country off at the weekend, effing brilliant Netflix 6 parter

There wasn't an Alien film made after Aliens as far as I'm concerned. A perfect movie and a perfect sequel. Let's leave it at that

I still feel some love for Alien 3 (especially knowing which direction the story was originally going to go and imagining it - Plus it's intriguing with it being David Fincher's first film

And I know I shouldn't - but I do enjoy Prometheus. I know it's a bit wobbly with how it fits into the whole Alien story, but I just enjoy it on its own

I'll tell you one film that I'd highly recommend watching with your partner and that's 'Lion' - My god, i'm not ashamed to say that I was a mere husk of a man after watching that (and not in a Pornhub kind of way)

my better-looking half watched Still Alive on Amazon Video while i was working...ffs! She didn't realise I bought the DVD earlier on your recommendation. She really liked it, but I still haven't seen it.

Louis Theroux is great. He's not a social chameleon as he's always himself, yet he's good with people from all kinds of different backgrounds.

I'm with Prev on Alien 3 (it's crap, sadly), but with Navidson on Prometheus (stupid, but fun & entertaining).

Haven't seen Covenant yet...what are thee verdicts out of ten?

Spy is a great film. Melissa McCarthy can be a really funny actress.
