Current Affairs Labour and Anti Semitism.......

The well orchestrated campaign against 'anti semitism' in the Labour party has made people fearful of speaking out against the actions of the Israeli state and the IDF in case they are portrayed as 'anti semitic'. And it is working at the moment with not a single word said by the Labour front bench or those on the Foreign Affairs committee. Incredibly there is silence from the likes of Mann and Smeeth silent on this issue in the middle east.

‘I didn’t think my leg would be like this’: Gazan who lost limb in IDF sniper fire talks to RT

"RT has reached out to the IDF to confirm whether the snipers had orders to target limbs of violent protesters as part of the military’s rules of engagement. Yet, the IDF has merely responded by claiming it has been warning Gazans “for weeks” not to approach the security fence, saying the troops were contending “with shootings against them, rock throwing, hurling of firebombs and spreading masking smoke.”

The Israeli military insisted that it used “live fire in a precise and measured manner” only "as a last resort.”

Human Rights groups have recently denounced the IDF’s tactics, pointing out that the use of live ammunition to any part of human’s body has the potential to kill. “The deployment of snipers, and the careful planning and significant number of injuries to the lower limbs does reflect an apparent policy to target [those] limbs,” Omar Shakir, Israeli-Palestinian director at Human Rights Watch, told Washington Post".

John Woodcock who criticised Corbyn for going to a Jewish event, has been suspended by the Labour party for sexual harassment. Let's hope the state controlled BBC and other media outlets are not judge and jury.

This is deliberately baiting the mainstream Jewish community days after they pleaded with him to tackle antisemitism. And he must know that meeting them now will give his members the message that the group’s extreme views are ok. Irresponsible and dangerous".

Is not being investigated for sexual harassment.

The IDF has had a "shoot to maim/cripple" policy for years and years. Check the statistics on Palestinians with injuries to the eyes. It doesn't draw the same international opprobrium as killing them, but makes them physically incapacitated and economically inactive.

Dreadful if true. You would think a people who should understand violence perpetrated against the individual would adopt a different tone. Don’t get me wrong, I believe that Israel, like any other country, should be able to defend itself, but not via this sort of gangster approach.......

It is also a drain on limited medical and other resources. It's as if it is a sign of 'leaving our calling card' totally disgraceful and disgusting. The silence on this, and other things carried out by the IDF, in this country is sickening. This will allow the Israeli state a free rein to wage even more war in the area, like striking Syria the other day and winding up to attack Iran, again with their out of date, bogus 'they can still produce nuclear weapons i.e using weapons of mass destruction to wage war. The intimidation of the Labour front bench by those claiming 'anti semitism' is rife in the Labour party has worked for now. I wonder what warmonger Tory Tom Tugendhat (Chair of foreign affairs committee) has to say about the shoot to maim policy of the IDF. The silence from the likes of Labour member Grapes, Ann Cwlyd and Chris Bryant is appalling. Maybe they could ask questions today when the select committee takes evidence for this.

'Tomorrow (1st May at 2.45 pm.) we will be taking evidence on the responsibility to protect and humanitarian intervention'.

I hope they ask questions and seek evidence about the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and Palestine.

I don't really see much wrong with that cartoon to be honest. It's satire that points out the Tories have singled out minorities in the past and the parody is, of course, that a minority would have to continue party policy and take action against himself and his family to be politically consistent.

The cartoon isn't racist; the Tories are. The cartoon couldn't exist without the Tories doing what they've done historically.

Think it's cause the guys parents are dead, so it's just a little insensitive.

He a Labour Lord, the one trying to reverse Brexit.......

He was made a Lord by Blair but resigned the Labour whip in 2015 so he could work for the Tories. Who were more than happy to have a Blairite on board.

In a major blow to Labour, one of its most influential peers has left the parliamentary party to chair a new infrastructure commission spearheaded by chancellor George Osborne.

Osborne will use his speech at the Conservative party conference in Manchester today to announce that Lord Andrew Adonis, a former minister under Prime Minister Tony Blair, has resigned the Labour whip and will now sit as a cross bench peer in the House of Lords.

Osborne will say that Lord Adonis -- who also served as Gordon Brown’s transport secretary and later chaired the New Labour pressure group Progress -- will lead the new, independent National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) to work out “calmly and dispassionately what the country needs to build for its future and hold any government’s feet to the fire if it fails to deliver”.

Lord Adonis is expected to take up his post on the commission immediately, with his work being overseen by a board whose members will be appointed by the chancellor.

While Lord Adonis is not defecting or joining the ranks of the Conservatives, his move marks the first high-profile departure from the Labour establishment since the election of radical socialist Jeremy Corbyn as the party’s leader last month - and a significant coup for the Tories on the first full day of their annual conference.

Labour sought to downplay Lord Adonis’s move last night, with a spokesperson for the Labour Lords frontbench tweeting that it is “not unusual” for a party-affiliated peer to resign the whip “while doing sensitive work”.

A spokesperson for Corbyn, meanwhile, did not offer comment on Lord Adonis, but instead attacked the Tory proposals, saying: “We have heard it all before from Osborne and the Conservatives on infrastructure and their record is one of complete failure to deliver.”

The spokesperson added: “There is still nothing to indicate that the Tories understand the desperate need for serious long-term investment in infrastructure."

Very very insensitive cartoon considering the heartache felt by those British people deported by the scummy Tories.

So basically he’s a two timing slimy toad. That what I thought as well. He’s still a Labour Peer though.......

Telegraph.....

“The frontrunner to succeed Heidi Alexander as a Labour MP has withdrawn from the contest after it emerged that she equated the treatment of Palestinians to “Nazi persecution” on Holocaust Memorial Day.

Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, a far-Left supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, claimed that the Israel-Palestine conflict should be considered alongside the systematic extermination of more than six million Jews during the Holocaust.”

Pretty well sums Corbyn’s labour up......
