Indeed he was. Not sure where we go from here but as Zouma is no better than we have and didn't sound overly keen on signing I would rather look elsewhere. They need to make a lot of decisions in the summer. If they keep with Brands and Silva they need a team that suit the style of play!

i also quite like zouma but being our best CB atm with mina injured isn't a big comparison, we might as well have peggy Mitchell playing next to zouma at the moment instead of keane, he runs like he's carrying albert square on his back

Perhaps in Gomes’ case, but I’d argue Zouma has always been bad. He was part of Stoke’s defence that got relegated.

Well we were better without Zouma for that run of games starting with Chelsea away until the derby earlier this season before he was arbitrarily thrown back in.

If we dont buy them we’ll find other options, probably cheaper, possibly better.

I like both of them despite this system doing them no favours but I would hope that Brands would have a list of alternatives to target if we do have a more limited budget in this window.
