That one season of Moyes has been overplayed when it’s used to compare it to others since. The job is infinitely harder now. Not defending Koeman btw, it’s just a different league now.

Koeman reminds me of Hoddle, can only work with top class players. In other words he’s a poor coach.

To be fair, Martinez seemed genuinely to recognise Everton as a big club and was appreciative of the opportunity to manage us. Just my opinion from the way he talked about us and in his general demeanour whilst he was here. This fat head on the hand always had an air of condescension about him; like he’d accepted a job below his station but was tolerating this temporary annoyance whilst waiting for a big club to come in for him. For all of BFS’s faults he recognised his tenure here as a privileged position. That attitude in the fat golf-loving Kryton lookalike is enough for me to regard him as the worst fit appointment in this club’s recent history.
