Koeman Not Confident On Barkley

16, one less than Tadic at Southampton

OH NO HOW EVER WILL WE REPLACE HIM

Tadic is 4 years older, at his peak.

No one's saying Barkley isn't replaceable. It's the point that we already have a capable player that we now have to spend money on to replace and hope it works out rather than investing in areas that are in dire need.

I don't think anyone has done anything remotely wrong here. All involved are looking out for themselves which they are perfectly within their right to do.

I'm happy for him to sign as long as we don't offer him anywhere near as much as we'll have to to keep Lukaku. If he wants anything near that then I think it makes sense for him to leave, as long as any potential buyers are willing to pay him that kind of money, as it wouldn't make sense for us to pay it. I think Gueye, Schneiderlin, Coleman, Lukaku and increasingly Davies are offering more consistent, quality performances/results for us in their respective positions and I don't think Barkley would be hard to replace. For a good half of this season he's been pretty average to poor and the two previous seasons weren't any better.

1b]Had McKenzie just said Barkley isn't very bright, I don't think anyone would have disagreed. I don't even believe it was veiled racism. [/b]What I do think he was doing is having a pop at Liverpool on the anniversary of Hillsborough, which shows the kind of person he is. I reckon you're being a bit harsh insinuating people are on par with that weasel just because we think Barkley is a bit thick.

If it makes you feel better, I think most English footballers are thick, which is why we don't do well at international level.

Well, it that's what you feel that is your own business.....we tend to take a different view of what McKenzie says in this city.

If it makes you feel better he lost his job for the racist undercurrents so it appears even the rag he worked for disagrees with you about what he said not being "veiled racism".

Congratulations on that.

But on this thread we have seen fellows wishing broken legs on him, depicting him as thick and questioning if he would know which end of a pen to hold in order to sign a contract.

All pretty puerile stuff which would not have looked out of place in the McKenzie article.

Like many others on here im realy not bothered if he stays or goes. But I do think we should at least wait until it's confirmed before opening the flood gates of abuse - even if he is off to follow in Rodwell's footsteps.

At least when he gets his wish to sit on a bench in London he will immediately be recalled into the England starting 11........

Eh.. wrong. Sandro is a number 10. Just like Barkley. But much better. He is a direct replacement.
Sandro is a striker. Barkley is an attacking midfielder. That's my understanding.

Anyway, who are the two/three creative midfielders you think we can realistically attract to the club when we sell Barkley.
