We don't need better marketing or more outlets in the UK for adult gear as a large part of our fan base regard buying and wearing a replica shirt as uncool and especially wearing it to watch Everton. We'll reach a point where we sell more adult shirts in the US than the UK.

Crap fans like @chicoazul

Actual real Everton fans wouldn't be seen dead wearing a replica shirt to the game

I'm logging off for a little while.

Almost burst a blood vessel reading that post on the Everton website.

At least on @GrandOldTeam people can talk about reality.

Everyone knows and Deloitte (who would know what they are talking about) have said we are not performing.

Having half the commercial revenue of Newcastle speaks for itself.

I want the club to be TRUTHFUL.

They should have said 'we must do better'.

Not try and claim a LADA is a MCLAREN P1.

We need to make sure we separate out revenue from profit, it is the easiest thing in the world to have a high revenue, I combining that and making a profit is more challenging, most retailers make about 5% profit much less for grocery retailers like Tesco and Sainsburys nearer 2-3%. Merchandising Shirts and Kits, probably the majority of revenue from retail, is quite tricky. predictable PROFIT is not necessarily a bad thing.

So what I don't quite understand yet -- if I buy something from Evertondirect, does any of the revenue from that actually reach the club, or is that money just going straight to Kitbag with no bearing on any fees they pay Everton?

Nice to see all these promotions from the club on merchandise. I only have two complaints:

Items are perpetually out of stock
EvertonDirect.com is a terrible, terrible website even by 2005 standards

I would assume all the money goes to Kitbag, and they give a slice of the profits to the club; all such merchandise is outsourced to/through Kitbag.

Which is a shame, as titbag are doing an awful job in promoting anything Everton related really.

Every time I want to order something for the kids, it's sold out. If I ignore the markers of incompetence (how many items should be sold out between July and December?), then it suggests they're hitting all their targets and doing a very good job indeed.

Or they're just understocked a lot. They usually only have Goat-sized things left a week after things go on sale, or on the end of season sales.

Also you can barely find anything Everton related in any sports shops around Glasgow, for example... Not even gonna mention how you can't find anything abroad, whereas even Newcastle and the likes have things in sports shops. It was especially bad when we had Nike, I went into a huge Nike/Adidas/Puma outlet back home and found stuff from nearly every other Prem team other than us.

CBA with the research, but I'd be interested in learning how often City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, or even Newcastle and Tottenham (Lads, it's Tottenham) are out of stock during high-sales seasons.

I've probably posted this before, but this is how I feel at EvertonDirect.com

I have deduced that something is amiss here...

For the year ended March 27, 2015, Kitbag reported a loss before tax and exceptional items of £1.2m (2014: loss of £4.1m).

The loss before tax was £2.2m (2014: loss of £14.9m).

This substantial reduction in losses was driven by a combination of top-line growth of 11.7% and the renegotiation of unprofitable contracts.

The gross assets of Kitbag as at March 27, 2015 were £33.7m. The sale is expected to produce a marginal loss upon disposal for Findel.
