Two reasons: 1) Joma made a substantially better financial offer. 2) Fans weren't happy with the previous away kits (pink and salmon colour; apparently they did sell very well but match going fans are not keen). Adidas doesn't offer a lot of customization options, they largely decide for themselves apparently. Joma has promised full input for the fans. Their Sampdoria kit is nice, so hopefully they do a good job.

City don't sell enough kits to make that worth while. Their status is not yet at that level (winning CLs etc.) to warrant it.

I expect the money is going in a big loop where the UAE pay puma 500 million to provide trainers to fit under the royal robes.
Spurs get a big deal off Nike and city are much bigger globally

Yes you are right there, but still you would expect city to fit somewhere in between Spurs and Chelsea. To be up there with utd at the top of world football is a bit of a joke.
City have a rapidly growing appeal worldwide on the back of their recent trophy successes AND the fact their parent group has acquired and will probably continue to acquire clubs in other countries that is producing a global City brand.

They've announced today that City will tour Japan in the summer and play games against Yokohama... their already acquired Japanese club. That crowd will likely be entirely wearing City kits.

Who cares. The "new" Everton just signed an extension to the worst commercial deal (Kitbag) in the history of commerce dating back to 4000BC.

If we sell 5,000 or 5,000,000,000 shirts we get the same money. Annual lump sum that Man United take in in a fortnight.
The deal has literally NOTHING to do with our kits. It's also not with kitbag, its worth a company 100 times larger. Have you even read a word about it? Do you know a thing about Fanatics and the deals they already have?
