Been Away Lads but my opion is this is just what BK wanted
He is being awfully quiet about it either way.
Can't say i'm not too displeased with the outcome either.

Indeed.
One thing i woud say, though, is that I hope those bastards at Tesco dont fcuk Kirkby off altogther now. They were telling everyone about how they'd transform Kirkby. Well let them stick by that town and build a massive superstore. They have all that land now. I hope to fcuk they dont just bank it and [Poor language removed] leaving the place high and dry.
Surely it was the store and not the ground that was the problem wasn't it?

apart from....
"We have discovered huge oil reserves under Bellfield so we are glad we still own it" *raises 2 fingers with Warren & Bradley written on them Chris Martin style.
what exactly did you want him to say in these first hours since the decision Dave ?
Bill breaks cover: Liverpool Echo.co.uk - News - Liverpool Local News - Bill Kenwright: Everton FC’s Kirkby move 'is dead but we need investment'
“The first thing to say in terms of Kirkby is that the chapter is over and the book is closed. The motivation has only ever been to improve the finances of the football club. They need to be stabilised, improved and expanded. As everyone knows, the club doesn't currently have a chairman or a board in a position to do those things. We have had some of the best financial experts helping us with our search for investment for some considerable time now – and that will continue. Inevitably the search will throw up questions about where the club will play its football in years to come. And the response will be: 'We are happy to be at Goodison Park while we regroup, reassess and consider all options available to us there and possibly elsewhere’ At the end of the day, the club's finances will be key to everything."

Who knows, Davek? However if he has genuinely been looking for investment then the main barrier to that investment has now been removed.
Of course, no seller will openly disclose his willingness to sell, however the pressure is now on Kenwright. He either has to come up with investment with him remaining on board, or investment with him selling.
Sitting and waiting for the next stadium project to come up is no longer an option, he has to act. I believe he and his advisors will fully understand this.
Failure to act will confirm what his doubters have always said about him, I'd like to think he's a true blue and will now put the interests of the club before his own.
Over to you Mr Kenwright.
