First sensible post in 2 pages. Its pre sesson ffs. Hope the esrlier claims that B&S will give youth a chance ring true and he stays with the squad to be developed.

I think Dowell is a prime example of the shoddy level of coaching at this club. He has the ability, he has plenty of talent. Technically he is strong.

But he doesn't look like he has any idea what to do on the field. He doesn't sense space. He doesn't know when to pass or shoot. He looks terrified to take responsibility so coasts through games on the periphery.

Where was the coaching? Why has he not learned how to get involved more? Why has he no self belief?

I think we need to ask serious questions of Unsworth and his U23 staff. They aren't providing anything for the first team.

..seems pointless to me given he only has 12 months remaining on his contract. It comes to a point where a decision has to be made to either play him or sell him.

I think the lineups today will be very telling regarding Dowell. If he is playing with Schneiderlin and Gueye again I'd have to think he is at the least in Marco's plans and possibly even being lined up to start at Wolves given we are two weeks out and if Gylfi was the man then he would be with the presumed first XI as soon as possible
