Class act Moyes. Top man. Looking forward to Everton v City whenever that games on. Moyes will have his lads revved up. Hughes to be sacked by xmas as they linger in mid table.

Respect! Gotta hand it to Moyes, he knows how to run a football club. Not that i'd ever have him here, obviously. I'd be pretty peeed off with City by now too, after so many multiple bids, and i'd be telling them to go jump in no uncertain terms.

Good on you Moyes.... Who the **** does Hughes think he is?????!! I have got a huge amount of respect for both Moyes and Everton. Lescott is a great talent and as a decnt footballer and Villa fan, I would love to see him at Villa Park; but unsettling players in just wrong. Oh well, at least David Moyes will still be in work come the end of the season!! Good luck to them for the new season.

Digging a big hole for yourself Mr Moyes or do you want out of Everton?

Davey Moyes simply put epitiomises whaat it is to be Everton manager.

Guess he didnt make it to Bupa then.

Told you all last night hes staying.

Maybe. But that's not exactly unequivocal that he's not for sale ---------> "The offer was never big enough - we rate Joleon that highly, we think the world of him as a centre half and as a left back. He gives us two players in one. They paid £12m for Gareth Barry with one year left on his contract but Joleon has considerably more than that left."

As I've said throughout, every player is for sale.

Ronaldo was for sale, Kaka was for sale...

It all comes down to price - if City bid £30m+ then Lescott would be gone. £15m followed by £18m was just pathetic.

Well we all know there's a price for anyone. He's clearly said that he's not for sale. BUT if he did want to sell their value of him is completely different to ours.

IE trying to flip it more, giving Lescott a few more reasons why he's not going. "Citeh dont think you're worth more than £18mill. We do."

Mind games.

Agreed mate. Today's statement was just posturing, imo.

We know all that but do you think Hughes has reached his limit as all his antics since the 2nd bid have been nothing short of underhand.

Why does want to talk?????? to the people who make the decisions????
Try to make them see 18 mill is a lot of money and not a penny more???

But we now know it is Davey.(y)

I dont know. There was no real need to mention Lescott's relative worth at all.

Says he wont be selling players two weeks to go in the window but i know what your saing, to be fair hes said it enough and all bar samntics - you get the jist.

The press conference is on here:

Its tough though because he's got to cover all bases.

Reading over on the Citeh boards all they bang on about is the fact we made it public that Citeh had put a bid in for Lescott and we're whinging about the way Citeh are conducting their business. So what Moyes has to do is try to block all exits because there's no rule that stops Citeh from continuing their bids and chase for Lescott. That's what pisses him off, the fact he cant stop them and that's why he's hating the way they're conducting their business.

So Moyes has to repeat he's not for sale. Citeh say that Lescott wants to go so we'll keep chasing him. Moyes then has to say you dont rate him as much as we do and you wont pay the money we want.

It tough because the only thing that can stop it is the end of the window. Its pissed him off big time and what he's said today, I'd honestly give it up if I were Citeh and go after someone else.

I read that performance by Moyes today as going on the attack to simply say: "Stop pissing around. You know what he's worth in this market, so let's have this done in the next few days or the clock has beaten you". Bringing it to a head, in other words. If City come back with anything in the region of £25M it'll end this.
