Well these are the likely outcomes.

1. Lescott will be sold from Moyes and Moyes walks
2. Lescott will not be sold, he will kick on for the World Cup and then go for money or realise the City thing is flawed.
3. Lescott will see his arse and go on strike

Or Lescott could do a Gerrard and realise which side his breads buttered and become a legend.

I honestly believe it's going to be No.1. There is no way Moyes will sell Lescott, so he will walk, and that will be sad.

I really hope it doesnt work like that Dixie. Moyse cant sell now after what he's said. The only way round it now for Moysey is to admit he cant work with a player that doesnt want to be here and finally let him go. You cant have a player on the books that dont wanna play for the cause. I personally wouldnt hold it against Moyse now if he sold him on and also I think the board must be rubbing their hands in glee at the thought of all the money involved. The whole episode is crummy.

How do you know that Hughes aint just chatting [Poor language removed] though?

It was only a few days ago that Kenwright apparantly said he would sell Lescott to a rival club...

Well for a kick off your comment about what Kenwright has said is a big boost to the theory Hughes aint talking [Poor language removed].

But people are making out that the board are doing a deal behind Moyes's back.

I say Moyes doesnt do the transfers, he just says yes and no to who he wants to bring in and let go. He's said no to Lescott going.

Citeh dont talk to Moyes, they talk to the board, the people who sort out these things. Being that the player has said he wants to leave, Citeh will carry on chasing him and peck away to them (ask for medical records etc etc rumour etc).

What can they do? Unplug their phone are refuse to take the call from them? The player wants to leave so I think the board should be give a chance to hear what they have to say away from the players and away from Moyes.

I've no doubt that a magic number will be there for the club. But I'm sure if Citeh went "okay, £25mill/£30mill" they would go to Moyes, tell him and probably pursuade him to sell - which I think he's reasonable enough to do so as long as he gets money to spend.

Moyes wont wake up in the morning and get told Lescott's been flogged. Moyes will have his say. It would be suicidal not to.

But I think Moyes has publically stated on more than one occassion that Lescott is not for sale, he will look like a tit if they sell, and I really don't think he would want that. He's a very proud man.

Well if Kenwright values the fee for Lescott higher than David Moyes remaining Everton manager, then Lescott will be sold over Moyes' head. Can't see it myself though.

It's all speculation, but maybe the talks right now are more about convincing Moyes, as Blue Ray says below, that "the only way round it now is to admit he cant work with a player that doesnt want to be here and finally let him go." Kenwright wont just sell him, he's not wired like that. He'll look for a collective decision. I bet a pound to a pinch of [Poor language removed] that the Lescott affair will conclude with the trundling out of the Kenwright: "the lad made a personal plea for me to let him follow his dream...blah blah blah....".

I dont think he'll look a tit if Lescott is sold though. I think he's pretty much stood firm, stuck to his guns so far...but as you say "business is buisness" and it will be down to Moyes holding his hands up and saying "I did all I could but we couldnt keep hold of him due to how money talks."

Alot of the press will be on his side IMO. They'll just see it as another example of how money is ruining football when one of the best managers in the premiership battled proudly to try and keep a player but in the end couldnt keep hold of him.

Some fans will see him as a tit though.

I actually agree with you here, davek, I can see Bill doing that in about a month's time when we're settling in Senderos, Ledley and a random expensive European, plus three squad players on frees. He's such an old dahling.

I like this article on a ManC forum. He actually seems to have some sense of fairness and a head on his shoulder.

Time To Give Up The Lescott Bid - Manchester City FC - Man City MAD

Man Citeh could've bought better defenders, or at least of his calibre, for less with less hassle.

If they hadnt have been nobheads and tried getting John Terry, they could've had unsettled Calvaho or Alex when they were almost begging to move on at one point for about £12mill.

Nuff said.

Moyes has done the right thing in my opinion in the way he has handled this. He doesn't want us to be viewed as a selling club and if anything good has come out of this it's that other clubs may think twice before trying to approach our players in future seeing how strong/stubborn we have been during this saga.

Is this lad real or what ? He is meant to be a professional and here he is dropping hints on such a pathetic site like twiitter ? Acts like this can only be taken one way . What a wind up . If Moyes gets wind of this I have no doubt this pleb will be shown the door quick smart .

I want rid of this lad plain and simple . We should take the money City are offering and cut loose .
