the trouble is , with lescott leaving it not only leaves a big gap at cb but also leaves us with no cover for lb.

if neville moves back it leaves gaping holes in the middle of the pitch aswell as a patch work defencive line.

perhaps fellaini can go back there against arsenal ( i play him there on fifa:) )

...........howard
hibbert yobo fellaini baines
............neville
...osman cahill pienarr
.........saha ...jo

subs ...nash rodwell gosling vaughan wallace baxter coleman

(man, i struggled to fill the subs bench !!!)

sent off in the first 10 minutes lol, who knows i might be wrong and he has improved on that substantially, but i'd be reluctant to put him in a role where his primary goal is tackling. plus he's wayyy too effective at receiving hoof balls from our defence to put him that far back

so thats a resounding no then (y)lol

i just thought he would be good at defending set pieces (he does well when he comes back for corners)

Jesus Christ, Fellaini at centre half?

He can't tackle ffs.

in all honesty i'd probably put cahill back there ahead of him, bit short for the position but he can obviously win headers and is in truth one of our best tacklers.

whatever happens we'll find a way, this isn't nearly as nightmarish as it was last year when we didn't have any fit strikers.

the arsenal game won't be pretty, but i think the defenders we do have are gritty enough to hold them relatively well, and the onus will fall on our players up front to break through a relatively exposed arsenal defence and come up with just enough goals

They've lost Toure and Adebayor, they haven't got the tallest team after them to be honest.

What they have got is bags full of quality on the floor, and sorry, don't mean to be pessimistic, but it's bags of quality that will tear the back end out of us.

mustafi ready to be thrown in at the deep end ...
