Let the money grabbing [Poor language removed] rot in the reserves, hang him out to dry and spoil his chances of getting to the world cup next year. F' it we need the cash, accept the transfer request put a 'he will be allowed to leave if our valuation is met (£25m) if not tough!' clause in. Remember players/managers/chairman will come and go but We'll still be Everton through and through.

rodders can play cb as well, i'm telling you we could possibly be in a much much worse position then this. hell we could even play a sort of 3 5 2 if we wanted to

honestly we have more manueverability than we did at the beginning of last season and as i recall last season didn't end all that badly.
none of these ideas are the most tantalizing but they'll get the job done.

I don't want to see him back in an Everton shirt anymore than I want to see Lescott in one.

I agree but feel sorry for anyone thats bought a new shirt with his name on. What a waste of money thats turned out to be. Lescott should refund them all out of his new wages.

what have you got against stubbsy? considering your (understandble) hatred of lescott, thats a strong statement.

Let's see....what about the fact he made up that the club told him to F off if his cancer came back?

Funny how he's back at a club who said that to him now though eh?

Can't stand the man to be honest. Little slime ball himself.

sorry i didn't know that story, it was a legitimate question i wasn't trying to wind you up, i just didn't know anything about that.

Mark the date.

Citeh away to Goodison Park. Regardless of how this Lescott crap plays out, would love to be in the stands that day.

Some how I dont think Lescott would like to be anywhere near Goodison that day. After all he'd have to walk though fans to get into the ground.

I see what you are saying and normally i would agree however football is totally differant. Your average guy on the street may earn say 20k a year. Footballers ie lecott is on say 30-40k a week. A WEEK. That is the isssue i have. GREED GREED GREED. It's as though he is saying sorry but 40k a week is just not enough so your average joe gets annoyed as it takes them 2 years of hard graft to earn that, which is why i dont but the statement if you could get the same job and double your money you would as football is differant. That is why football is differant as you are on so much money anyway fans want to see ambition and loyalty and we also want players to remember ie lescott which club put you on the map and the england team.

Well on the money side:

Let's say Lescott averages 40k a week for his prime football years. Say 22-34 years old. 12 years of football.

That's 40k/week * 52 weeks / year * 12 years = 31 million pounds

Take away half for taxes = 15.5 million pounds

So he'll take home 15.5 million pounds for his entire career. If he plans on living to life expectancy age of 77 that gives him 280k / year spreading his take home earnings from age 22 to 77.

Or if you look at as if a normal career to a retirement age of 65 he'd average 360k / year over those 43 years.

Is it greed? Well to answer that you'd have to talk to Lescott to see what his motives are. This is his job and he gets to decide what he things is best for himself in his career. Like it or not it's capitalism at work. There a limited pool of quality out there that clubs are trying to tap into. The best players get payed the most money. Supply and demand.

Players come and go. I'm loyal to the club. (y)
