You say it as if it's a good thing. I don't want players at our club who don't want to play for us.

Time to let him go. I don't care if we have Senderos next to Yobo - anyone but Lescott.

I'm fuming off this arrogant little waster.

I wasn't intending it to sound like that...

That's what I think will happen though, what Moyes will do.

I'm confident that Joleon Lescott will still be an Everton player this season, Moyes just won't let him go, it's as simple as that.

If we sell Lescott that leaves Moyes with 20 odd says to get 5-6 players in. It's hard enough getting players in as it is, Moyes won't risk that.

Lescott will probably leave next summer, a similar situation to Barry and Villa last season. Moyes knows Lescott will give his all, the lad wants to go to the World cup with England.

Can't blame him for seeing Manchester City as a better option, most non Evertonians would to be honest. It's disappointing to see him handing in a transfer request so close to the season though.

He put his transfer request in because of what Hughes said the other day that if he cant get the players he's after he'll look elsewhere. Lescott didnt wanna miss the boat. Shithouse way of doing it though while he's away with England. I'd offload him now. He dont wanna be here anyway. He's been good for us but I'll be glad to see the back of him now.

Just because he sees a career opportunity (in the form of an extra £1m after tax per annum) in a move to City doesn't mean he wouldn't be happy with still being at Everton for the rest of his playing days. Not everything is black and white.

LOL

Of course, he want's to play for us. Spot on. Nice one.

THEN WHY THE FCUK DID HE HAND IN A TRANSFER REQUEST?

Some people just can't admit to anything to do with our club being wrong or out of place. It's a joke.

The idea that him considering a move to city means that he forgoes all interest in Everton, his teamates and the fans is ridiculous.

So what your telling me...wait...your saying, Lescott still wants to play for Everton football club, and not Manchester City?

I'm saying that he might still be perfectly happy with playing for Everton if he isn't able to move to city or they don't offer him what he wants if he is given the go ahead to speak to them.

Booing him certainly won't help the team and it won't make him play well.

Everton winning the game is the most important thing, not Joleon Lescott.

I'm thinking more along the lines of...."Number 5 - Joleon Lescott" "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".

How many times have we booed our own player at Goodison?

If I was being offered twice the amount of money to do my job but for a different company, it would be a real no brainer. The difference for fans is that the football "universe" is seen differently, somehow apart from real life.

Its not easy to see why. If in real life if you said that you were resigning and your employer said no, you'd say "do one, with knobs on it". Football is seen as something different which is why we have transfer rules which is outside anything that operates in any other industry. Loyalty can be "enforced".

Bottom line. The days of loyalty are over. We have to deal with these things in a business way, as much as it pains me to say.

Agree with all but the last line- there are a few out there that are loyal. Top Cat was on TV not long ago saying that he could NEVER sign for Liverpool. Loyalty if you ask me.

the football universe is seen differently because its something most fans are passionate about, which may not apply to their employment (work to live, don't live to work and all that)

i'm not too surprised with lescott, but i really think moyes needs to come out strong and state his approval of hughes tapping up

As [Poor language removed] as it is, I have always said if my son was ever lucky enough to play football and he was in the same position as many footballers like Roger finds himself whereas he could double or even treble his money doing the job he loved, I'd pack the fcukin suitcase for him myself don't care what club put a bid in. even the RS...and I hate the RS.
We are all aware that clubs are exactly the same, if they think they can cash in on a player or if their face doesn't fit any longer there good as gone. I don't like it, like everyone else but at the end of the day he's made it quite clear he no longer wants to play for us and receive the "chicken feed" wages he believes he's getting and no amount of cringe worthy cheering and singing his name in a friendly will change that. he has not just woke up this morning and decided to go, I can probably guarantee as soon as this story broke that shitaaah we're in for him, his mind was well and truly made up.
If that Welsh manc tosser offers over £20 mill take it and get him the fcuk out the club once and for all cause this will eat away at the squad and that's a fact. Good bye Joeleon.(y)
