If I was being offered twice the amount of money to do my job but for a different company, it would be a real no brainer. The difference for fans is that the football "universe" is seen differently, somehow apart from real life.

Its not easy to see why. If in real life if you said that you were resigning and your employer said no, you'd say "do one, with knobs on it". Football is seen as something different which is why we have transfer rules which is outside anything that operates in any other industry. Loyalty can be "enforced".

Bottom line. The days of loyalty are over. We have to deal with these things in a business way, as much as it pains me to say.

No one is saying differently.

Who's gave him the chance to play in the top flight of football, in Europe and get him called up to England - after his career looked over?

He's an absolute slime ball, the only reason it's took him this long to hand in a transfer request is because he thought Davey would be soft and just let him go - and handing in a transfer request means he wouldn't get him loyalty bonus. It's all down to money for this loser.

if lescott has put in a transfer request then imo he is a greedy lowlife who should be hounded at every opportunity , especially after the faith everton fans showed him during the malaga game.

but at the same time i dont put the blame entirely at lescotts feet.

with the way this club has been redundant in the transfer market we really havent encouraged any of our squad to stay by showing that the club has any ambition.

screw lescott , screw mark hughes , screw man city and screw our board. all the above have insulted everton fc and should 'pay'.

I like you.

I don't blame Lescott wanting a bigger pay packet but am damned angry about his timing. As for those on here mouthing about 3 weeks still to go in the transfer window, we have important games coming up and you want us to do it with one CB, are you mad???

I really angry though about Hughes and his tactics, to me it is quite clear with the rumour of looking elsewhere this made Lescott [Poor language removed] his pants.

In one of the papers today it was talking of ann offer of 20 mill, well FO I say, want at least 25 mill to fund buying the his replacement Upson or Senderos and that PSG chappie plus Defour.

typical...city are to blame for this eh?

you got one thing right and its your board's fault for going public on this as ive touched on with another thread.

if city are that bad they could have got lescott with doing a deal to let jo join you but did they do that in a way of so called bully tactics ? NO they let jo goto everton well before this and if we wanted we could have either kept him at city or let him go to a team that isnts our rival for next season because its not as if we need to clear the wages for him and thats not being cocky its just a fact.

When was that? He was one of the championships best players and highly rated by a number of premiership clubs when we signed him.

I agree it's all down to money for him though, unfortunately. Like I said earlier, I'm very disappointed he doesn't want to play for Everton anymore.

Bullshit, you should look at the tactics of Hughes and his frequent statements to the press. He was told at the beginning, no sale so he should have respected that and F***** Off.

Oh my word, what a fecking little brummy merchant banker, fuming at the little rat I am. Thought you were better than that Lescott.

And yes, I have only just found out.........

But anyway, I said all along he would want to stay if we improved the squad, hes seen the crap we are in and wants to bail ship to a team on the up and triple his wages.

Sell him now, £22m, £20m, £18m, 50p I dont care. He must go. Whatever value he had to the team its now gone.

everton declared months ago "we wont sell anyone" but hughes still said he wanted lescott and still made a bid.
we said "no , we are not selling anyone " but hughes made yet another bid.

just to note that the first mention i heard of lescott being a target was from mark hughes during a press conference not the everton board !
the whole saga is a press gang sale in the media.
man city paid no attention what so ever to evertons requests and unsettled the player through the media through out the summer and have continued to do so ..fact.
its nothing less than condescending , lack of respect for everton ,bully boy , aggresive buying.

This is clearly all down to money. FFS sake he only signed a contract extension last year, so now CityBigLicks have come down with a paypacket concealed in a JCB, he's jumping ship. Which you can't really blame. But i think were all agreed here that the way he's gone about it is piss poor, its left everyone up the paddle without a creek.

Its a tuesday too, he should have done it on a monday.
