That could leave us with an unhappy player.

I don't think so. The agent will be the one pushing for the release clause, not Stones. I'm fairly certain that John would have been spoken to by the club over the past few weeks informing him that they won't stand in his way but it has to be on Everton's terms

They already have stood in his way.

Has anyone stop to think that this is a bullshit story from the press to stir the whole thing up again, look at the facts people

Why would we pay more in wages so we can sell in Jan??????

Let's put this to bed, the gutter press have got their angle on this and they won't let it go because we have stood up to the chosen one.

He has a good season and Euros and that price looks incredibly cheap to me
Yeah you are probably right. There is no sense to transfer fees these days anyway. I at one time would have said no way should a defender be worth so much. Until Rio Ferdinands ott price to United. So maybe 50 million for Stones.

It would make him one of the most expensive football transfers of all time, especially for a centre half. Let's not get daft here, it'd be a decent price.

That isn't the same as saying we should accept it of course.

Rio Ferdinand's price in hindsight was a bargain. That's my problem - Even if we get 38m I suspect so will Stones be.

Honestly wish this thread would get locked @mods, else we can start a thread on all our players valuations wed sell at, transfer windows shut and this thread just gives a platform for those rags printing stones bs to get linked now

Based on current prices, tv deal sums and potential future prices if he reaches his potential...it is incredibly cheap
