I think its clear that Moyes will be looking around for young CBs. Yobo would possibly be the one we get money for. Hes not the best, but hes done us proud and on his day he is great.

Aye mate i would have liked Shawcross, Cahill, Taylor, Kilgallon or Senderos.

5 mill was a lot for us for a 31 (now 32 year old). Surely we could have got Senderos for that.

senderos is out of contract in the summer so may get now for nominal fee and if we can sell yobo for more than 5mill will help the bank balance without weakening the squad

Lets not write of Distin just yet, he has shown some qualities, its been a hard time to come into the team. I did and still think 5 mill was alot of money for someone his age - if you look at what Dunne has done at Villa.

Yobo is saveable though, and can still get himself back to being the world class fooballer that once attracted the big clubs.
Perhaps he has lost faith in Everton, and maybe it is time for him to consider his options.

On his day, he is still one of the top center backs in the world.

And I also agree with the dude that said we overpaid for Distin, hes been a bit poor, I think he will come good, but hes got 1 maybe 2 seasons left and hopefully hes not being injury prone in his old age, but as I say, I think he become a good steady player.

But we got silly money for Lescott, so fair play to David, he went a bit mad and spunked it all. Good on him I say.

Me too but again like we, Yobo knows he's a quality player and he's soon gonna be 30 and he wouldn't wanna see the youngsters take over him and him being there to cheer them up from the bench would he. He may choose to leave for a first team football. Unless Duffy does something extraordinary I'd have Yobo as my 3rd CB considering that he's more than good enough to fit in and start whenever needed

Distin was a good buy and experienced. You're Cahill's/Shawcross's etc would'vr cost more....

In order for Moyes to build a successful team, we need at least the option of having 5 years on each players duration.

Anyone that is at an age that they can only give us a year or two need to be assessed and eventually replaced.

Otherwise we will be constantly filling a bucket that has a leak, rather than fixing the hole.

Keep them young, and let them grow strong together.

Moyes isn't the only one who's tiring of him.


I'm sorry for this, and he's been a good servant to the club, but after the derby, I honestly never wanted to see him play for Everton ever again.

And he's always injured.

And he's been playing [Poor language removed].

he's ruled himself out of alot of games for us this season through injury, yet while he's currently injured he's in africa with nigeria preparing for the tournament!
