yes and no, he started to come out for it which was a mistake, he realised he wasn't going to make it so went back and williams was left stranded. Williams should have launched it into the stands though, no messing.
The next two games are possibly the tests which will define him and if he's good enough to be the long-term number 1. I personally have confidence that he'll pass them.

It can't be understated though the positive or negative effect goalkeepers have on the defenders in front of them. It's no coincidence that the defence has been so strong since he came in, clearly he has their confidence and they never have in the back of their minds "Joel's dodgy so I need to make sure he doesn't have to come for anything." Everyone instead just gets on with their own jobs and don't think about what he's doing, they know he can be relied upon if needed.

11. So Stek had 2 in 15 full games, Joel has 9 in 13 full games. I've excluded the game when Stek went off injured and neither played a full match.
That's really impressive from Joel. Even the games he's had nothing to do, there's no doubt that the defence feel calmer with him there than Stek and Howard, and that helps everyone.
