Can understand him wanting to leave, even if we do offer him a contract extension, shame really but we defo need to replace him when he goes

No mate we got 7th in spite of our gash goalkeepers and defenders. Or so I read.

I just never felt comfortable when Tim used to collect crosses . Robles may never have had the reflexes of Howard but his overall game including his command over his defence was better. Over the last season when I saw his name on the teamsheet it felt nice to relax a little .

He was never good at crosses or corners. However we always had defenders who were some of the best in the prem at doing that. The USMNT always cleared crosses/corners (and still does) well too. If you ignore your flanks like we did in Martinez year 2, you best get another keeper.

Howard was always a good shot stopper, especially one v. one. and his long outlet throws to the flanks were sex.

Always thought Robles was terrible coming off the bench so I don't think he's a good option as a No.2. He's a better player when he starts every week and hopefully he can catch on with a club he could start at.
