Them clubs are under no pressure to sell, the players would see us as a sideways step, we couldn't afford them anyway, and if they did come into the market there would be a fair few clubs in the mix aswell, clubs most likely wealthier than us

Agree with some of that but cannot agree that we would be a sideways step. If your either of those keepers, to play with our squad bursting with exceptional young talent, the history we have & potential over both those teams is there for all to see. Spurs don't need a keeper, Mignolet just got 5 more years, out of all the clubs sharing same top 4 ambition, we are the clearest contender to have most potential to do that. Far more so then Stoke or Southampton I may add to. That's appealing for a player, no doubt

They will see the teams that they're at outspending us while finishing in and around us, they wouldn't be partially motivated to make the move. And history counts for nothing

Again when we signed a full back from Barnsley did you think approved 18 months later team would bid over 30 million , and we would turn it down - i.e. If you don't see a player Regulary how will anyone know?

The first report I heard about Stones was that he would captain Everton, that was after his U21 debut

First of we have no idea if this summer we will be outspent with all the riches available now, plus possible new owners etc. secondly if you are either of those keepers, who offers a higher chance of Europe/ top 4 out of Stoke, Southampton, or us? Here's another question. How many players in either of those teams would get into our team, excusing the keepers obviously? Maybe 2 from each? If we as fans, plus seasoned ex pro's/ pundits etc all say we have underachieved this season with the amazingly talented squad we have, what makes you think current players wouldn't have the same opinion of us? What club above us would need/ want either of those 2 keepers, leaving us way below pecking order??

Goin off past history, and also every team gets tv money. We'll always be middle to lower end spenders relative to the league unless we sell one of our big players

Nah, mostly routine apart front eg 1v1 which was a good save.

Still pathetic to only have had 2 good games all season
My entire point was that he's v good occasionally, but not consistent enough to be a starter across a season.

For the record I'm pro Robles all the way

Howard is consistent, consistently [Poor language removed]. He's probably had no more than 6 or 7 good games in 18 months of footbal. Time for the glue factory

There was a save against Newcastle where Robles sort of routinely stretched upwards and pushed away a bouncing shot quite comfortably.

It sounds mad as it would be a comfortable save for 99% of professional goalkeepers worldwide, but I got the feeling at the time that Howard would have been on the floor having already dived the wrong way.

Anyone remember the one I mean and agree/disagree?
