but that's if Baines sticks around...How do you know tomorrow though?
Would be an odd signing like, Lescott, Baines and Valente.
Unless Moyes is thinking of pushing Baines to left wing or keeping Lescott centre back.

It's been a rumour all Summer round these parts I assume you've only just got wind of it? Just something I heard and he's been offered 12k a week apparently, Joe thinks it's too good an offer to turn down but as you've said, left back is your strongest position. I'm not happy he's moving to you as he won't play as he's not good enough yet for Premiership football, but trust me he will be.
You'll probably loan him out to a championship team.
2 million would be a bargain because he's an immense talent, it's good for us so long as there is a % sell on.i guess you chaps wont be too bothered as 2 million for an 18 year old in league one is good money.
evertonians bitch because we are skint against the big 4 but the gap between prem teams and t'others is bigger than it has ever been.
i hope you find your way back along with forest and wednesday. teams of this size should be at the top end.
good luck next season.

Although he's supposedly a talented kid we should be looking at other options in my opinion. Players who play in positions where struggling in and players who are going to make an impact straight away and challenge for a starting place. I don't think Mattock offers that therfore he it is a waste of a signing.
With Baines, Lescott and Valente I think we've got three excellent left backs and don't need another. 2 million is too expensive.
Well Valente is too old now, Lescott is a centre back and always will be. Baines is the only real left back that should be commanding a place. Nothing wrong in investing in future talent.
Valente is solid as he showed last season. Nothing special just does a job for the team. We also have Baines and Lescott. Lescott can fill in there if we have any major problems and Jags and Yobo can play centre half. The good thing about Jags, Yobo and Lescott is they are rarely injured so I don't think we'll have many problems at the back.
There's also Rodwell who can play centre half. I have nothing against investing in talent but at the moment with the budget we are likely to get I'd rather spend it on players who are going to make an impact straight away.
2 million is a little expensive for me but we'll see what happens.
Well we only need to improve the first eleven by one player in my mind. So everyone else is going to be back up. I don't see 2million as that expensive. Especially if this time next year this lad signs for Spurs or Arsenal for £15m.
One player? I disagree. If we want to be challenging Liverpool then we need two or three in my opinion.
Two centre midfielders and a right back to go straight into the team.
To replace whom? Ok Hibbert maybe, but I don't think we need to sign another right back when we have 3 in the squad. We only have 2 left backs in the squad because Lescott is a centre back and is emergency left back at the very most.
I don't see why we need 2 central midfielders, are you talking about leaving Cahill out of the strongest eleven?
We need to improve on our week positions and at the moment looking at oir starting eleven I'd say Phil Neville is a weak link. He's not poor by any means but he's someone we should be improving on if we want to move forward. Neither he or Hibbert offer enough for me at right back.
Cahill for me isn't a centre midfielder. He can play there but his future lies as a second striker/attacking midfielder playing off Yakubu in a 4-5-1. If we played 4-4-2 then no Cahill wouldn't be my first choice centre midfielder.
Osman and Carsley can be improved on. Carsley is obviously gone and is about to be replaced but Osman is also someone we could do with stepping up from. I'm a big fan of Ossie but he should be replaced with someone like Fernandes or another creative midfielder.
Ok I agree, but I don't think Moyes is going to spend big on 2 central midfielders and a right back. I think he won't touch the right side of defence because he has Gosling ready and waiting to step up. Neville will probably start as defensive midfielder - but we certainly need to improve that area, and I agree about Osman. It really depends on the formations.
So if we are talking 2 midfielders, stocking up on a highly rated youngster at 2 million isn't going to dent the war chest that much.
