I agree in that I dont believe someone caught with a bit of weed on them should get in bother with the police - for me a 1st time offence should be a mandatory rehab clinic / education on the matter. If caught numerous times or caught dealing then maybe a heavy fine and some jail time.

The problem is society is lost currently - I used to find answers to my problems down the bottom of a glass but about 18-24 months ago I found spirituality and was saved and I haven't looked back since.

My mental health has never been better, I have more money in my pocket, less scraps with the missus and just an all round better connection with nature and the elements around us.

Instead of bombarding our yoof with ale, gambling, drugs and loose women we should be educating them on finding peace with themselves and nature as thats the only path to improving the problems we face.
This guff is on purpose isn't it. please don't reply, it's gif time...

I'm pleased you are better off for having given up alcohol.

Human history has shown over and over again that prohibitions do not lead to the intended societal "improvements" and society is not "lost" due to alcohol and drug abuse. If not recreational in use those things often are a mask for other issues imposed by an unjust society (poverty, etc) or very personal in nature (depression or other mental health difficulties) that existed prior to the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs.

I don’t smoke it and want it legalized (it already is in my state of California)

The majority of Americans do too
An overwhelming share of U.S. adults (91%) say either that marijuana should be legal for medical and recreational use (60%) or that it should be legal for medical use only (31%). Fewer than one-in-ten (8%) say marijuana should not be legal for use by adults.
Serious question
If it truly is legal in California does this mean people can go about their normal business while " under the influence " ?

Like driving a car , or in workplaces ie using heavy machinery etc.

Don't bother. One problem with drinking the Jesus Kool-Aid is that you are forevermore bound to think in black-and-white, "lost" and "saved" terms. The guy is worth a listen. The churches he left behind in his wake, not so much.

Just to clarify mate I'm not religious (think its a load of cobblers myself) I found peace and spirituality with the natural world and the elements.

It's a habit borne of optimism that exists until I'm severely bashed about the brain.

Agreed. Jesus was quite the cool cat. His followers are largely not.

Good. Healthier.

The apocryphal Gandhi position on the matter. Unfortunate that it's so true.

It's legal for personal use and regulated much the same way alcohol or firearms or automobiles are.

In those common terms, it is legal.
I get that
( and I would love a spliff, but can't for fear of losing my job )

But if you are stopped by the Police Monday morning driving to work after having a few sliffs on Sunday is that termed as Legal.

Over here much the same with alcohol you would be arrested , fined and banned from driving if found to be in your system.
