In comparison to what? It's a bunch of largely leftist careerists, which shouldn't be much of a surprise. About the only job where the aisle is regularly crossed is Defense, and that's by Democrats alone.

If you want to talk scary advisers, Reagan and Bush 43 had the kind of foreign policy teams that gave us Iran-Contra and the second go-round in Iraq. Clinton's wasn't all that strong, which in conjunction with his political instincts was how we ended up with the policy of a weathervane for eight years. Trump spent most of his administration on the Nixon plan of firing the good people and replacing them with yes-men, though at least Nixon kept Kissinger around because he knew he needed Kissinger.

Is this lot superb other than Yellen? No, but the last time somebody assembled a really first-rate team was Bush 41, with a very different Cheney over at Defense and the remainder largely cherry-picked from the quality below the top jobs under Reagan. It's very much the exception rather than the rule.

think you're mixing up leftists with liberals

No, I would characterize this lot as left-of-center rather than "liberal", as I would Biden. If you would prefer "leftish" in the King's English, feel free.

Biden managed to land more or less right on the party median, in terms of voting record, in every term of Congress he ever served in, irrespective of how liberal the Democrats were at the time. He's no liberal, and there's a very long data series that proves it.

But then you have the age old question about how on the political spectrum it doesn't matter where you are in terms of domestic policy compared to how that portrays into foreign policy.

"Politics stops at the water's edge" died under Cheney. And I mean that, as opposed to Bush 43, in terms of where policy was coming from.

Our foreign policy ceasing to be bipartisan, and becoming just another partisan battleground the way public health also became, is a problem. Some things need to transcend electoral politics for a country to function.

yea, there's what American considers left (center) and what everyone else considers left (does not exist in mainstream American politics)

Tbf the only people who want to legalise pot are the ones who smoke it lol

Personally think its best kept banned we have enough problems in society with ale to be legalising drugs anarl.
I don’t smoke it and want it legalized (it already is in my state of California)

The majority of Americans do too
An overwhelming share of U.S. adults (91%) say either that marijuana should be legal for medical and recreational use (60%) or that it should be legal for medical use only (31%). Fewer than one-in-ten (8%) say marijuana should not be legal for use by adults.

Tbf Legs a large amount of Americans want assault rifles legal so I dont think they are the bastions of logic lol

I agree with the medical use of pot but not recreational. Studies have shown adverse reactions that can happen to peoples health with regular use of it.

We should probably criminalise tobacco, alcohol, Coca Cola, sweets and beef burgers too.
