Tbf Legs a large amount of Americans want assault rifles legal so I dont think they are the bastions of logic lol

I agree with the medical use of pot but not recreational. Studies have shown adverse reactions that can happen to peoples health with regular use of it.
Which is one reason why I don’t take it.

But that is true of lots of things including wine and CocaCola (both of which I do consume) and wouldnot want to see banned. We tried the whole Prohibition thing and it really didn’t work out, much like banning pot hasn’t either.

We should probably criminalise tobacco, alcohol, Coca Cola, sweets and beef burgers too.

You could argue alcohol but the others have little long term adverse effects on their own.

pot however has had numerous studies done whicn shows association between the drug and various adverse outcomes, including impaired driving, increased risk of stroke and testicular cancer, brain changes that could affect learning and memory, and a particularly consistent link between cannabis use and mental illnesses involving psychosis.

Sorry, what??? lol

Also, pretty much all your links there are correlated (NB not proven) with regular, heavy marijuana use. There's little to no evidence that criminalisation actually has any significant effect on its usage at this point, or that legalisation would result in a surge in use.

Problem is where do you draw the line ? We are losing the war on cocaine, meth and heroin do we legalise all of that ? Pedophilia/child grooming has become rife online with the rise of social media according to the police - do we turn a blind eye to that as its a sexual preference for some which is never going to be solved.

Once you legalise something because you're struggling to control it society slowly falls into chaos. Take alcohol for example - look at the trouble that causes every weekend for the NHS and police, I wouldn't lose sleep if they banned/restricted it tomorrow.

The paedophilia shout is a really dumb one, so we'll put that to one side, but yeah there's a pretty strong argument to be made that decriminalising heroin, cocaine etc would result in better outcomes for those with addiction issues.

Also "where do you draw the line" is the biggest cop out answer ever, and is exactly the same argument those Americans you mentioned who want assault rifles to be legal use to justify why there should be NO gun control of any kind. "Where do you draw the line? If we let them outlaw assault rifles, or speed loaders, or bring in background checks, it's a slippery slope!"

I agree where you draw the line is difficult, my personal preference is the same approach that Portugal has taken which as far as I am aware has been generally successful.
The decriminalization of drugs in Portugal rapidly decreased the number of deaths from overdoses. Only five years later, the number of street drug overdressed dropped from 400 to 290 annually. The number of new HIV cases decreased from 1,400 to 400, in just 6 years. Drug treatment also improved massively. The number of people in treatment went from 6,040 in 1999 to 14,877 in 2003, an increase of over 140%. The investment was made in increasing drug education in schools and creating awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.

Well if you're going to use actual FACTS...

Mate we get it, you like a spliff in your spare time - but you can't just pretend there is no problems that will be created from legalising pot for recreational use.

I know more people that snort the devils dandruff than smoke weed and I tell you now when pot is legalised worldwide its only a matter of time until cocaine and heroin follows and thats when the fun and games begin.

Much like everything else you post.... not accurate. Never had a single drag.

I know a few people who do coke on occasion too. Do you know a lot of people who would do cocaine but don't because it's illegal? Can't say I know a single one.
