I think in the context we are in, I wouldnt necessarily call Biden a segregationist. Maybe others would. It's hard to argue he didnt Support aspects of segregation though, even indirectly.
To me theres a distinction. If you dont see one that's fair enough.

I think someone can support one aspect of a policy, without necessarily having it define them.
To me it's too harsh to call Biden a segregationist, but he did support aspects of segregation. I would say it's an important distinction.
Ok mate. You seem to want to have an argument on this. I've given you why I think it is a bit too strong on Biden. He supported aspects of the policy, but I wouldn't necessarily define him as such as a result. If you would, that's fair enough.

Well its widely accepted he supported measures to effectively keep schools segregated. This is quite widely acknowledged.
Do I think that automatically makes him a segregationist? No. I think that would be an overly simplistic label.

either way, given his more recent record with regard to African Americans, I do think it's unfair to harp back to positions he took 40 years ago.
During the debates I thought Harris was doing it for political points and that seems to be born out by her becoming his VP pick.
It'd be easier to go after him for supporting the Iraq war.
In fact there's lots to go after him for, like his support of the credit card industry, the majority of whom are HQ'd tax exempt in his state.
But here we are, he's the nomination and he's a cajillion times better than Trump.
