He is 72 and only up for reelection in 2024 - he might have made the jump to independent and just served out his term. But even then I doubt he’d have supported Trump over Sanders - more a “pox on both their houses” stance.

This was a pretty big oversight by the DNC, long-standing and entirely understandable policy that active duty troops shouldn’t be used in events.

It is estimated 10-15% of Sanders voters voted for Trump or third party candidates in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Hillary Clinton lost those states by a total of 77,000 votes. Nobody in the party believes Sanders worked hard to heal the wounds of a very difficult primary. Certainly not as hard as Clinton did to heal the party after her loss to Obama. Many have long memories.
Hillary ran a dumb, entitled campaign against Cheeto. She's ultimately to blame for her loss. But at the same time, Bernie's Bros and Bro-ettes had an effect on the outcome. I'm not sure there's ever been quite that many primary Dem voters who swapped sides, at least in my political lifetime.

No doubt she was the cause of her own downfall. She was unpopular to begin with and like you said she was lazy.
But yep defo doesn't help when your opponent and his support shrug their shoulders or give you the cold shoulder.
Think thats why many of the polls were off too. No one expected people to jump ship.
Anyway it is what it is and we have Biden. Hopefully his support this time show up otherwise when I hear any of them complain ill just laugh at them. Even Sanders himself. Moaning about things Trump does but doesn't seem to see the irony.
