Jimmy Bullard

Having seen him play so well for Fulham last season, i'd be happy with him. But only as a squad player.

Given the fact that football is now a squad game, what do people mean when they say "Only a squad player", we could potentially be playing some 50 + games this season.

Last year with our squad we got tired 10 games before the end of the season.

Only 1 question is needed. Does Bullard improve the squad in terms of QUALITY, the answer must be no. Yea hes a decent player and so on, but Moyes has made a big rod for his back.

Hes said he only wants players that will bring the club forward. Take us to the next level, to go out and sign Bullard, Smith or similar players would mean he was lying in the 1st place.

Yes we are getting desperate and im sure every single club in Europe is now aware of this, so i reckon they will want 20m for Bullard now anyway. Its gonna be a looooooooooooong hard season, unless we get in the 6-7 players Moyes said at the start we need. Can anybody see this happening? Even Moyes has basically said he cant.

Moyesy says: "We have got injured players to come back, we had some players away in Africa who we knew were going to take a little bit longer to get ready. Tim Cahill isn't back yet, Leon Osman missed a good majority of the pre-season and has only just returned. He only passed a fitness test before the game.

We have got young boys as well so if we picked up an injury or two, we might be in trouble. Joseph Yobo also had extra time off because of his situation in the summer. We have got players at all different levels and all different periods of their preparation. We have really only had four or five players who have done all the work. I said in the summer that I needed to get five players, it could now be up to six or seven. Is getting seven players in possible? I don't know."

You can't compare Smith with Bullard, Smith can't get in the barcodes first team and only ever got an england call up coz he was playing in a top 4 team.

Tiago, Juventus to Everton - Insider says: 3/5
The Toffees are inching closer to a loan deal (including a substatial fee) for the Portugal midfielder. Juventus will sanction the move with the condition that the 27-year-old's stay at Goodison will eventually be made permanent eventually for £8million.

Tiago maybe also on his way, on loan.

bullard was unlucky getting injured just after he went to fulham then when he came back he's credited with keeping them up, when at wigan he didnt miss a minute of play in about 3 years, and is credited as being the cog in the gearbox that drove the team.
i'm not saying that he's diego maradonna here, i'm saying that he will be the sort of player that will always give everything, not cry off with an achey finger or split ends, i think he will give the type of hard working regular performance that a certain mr. carsley gave.
*ducks to avoid the keyboards, monitors & mobile devices heading my way from the anti-lee carsley mob that will never ever give him credit for the work he put in.
he will weigh in with a few goals as well, one thing is he will always turn up, even if its lashing it down and freezing cold like the night in fiorentina, one thing wigan fans tell me is that you just dont get those 'not here' nights from him, that sort of thing can kick the others into gear when they are on a 'not here' night as he stands up to be counted and will get stuck into anyone who isnt doin' the same.

Sums up my views to the max. A midfielder who can play midfield rather than some utility player. While he may not be a step up in quality (however defined), he's not rubbish, and he ups the quality of the squad because he knows the prem, and has been a key player in all the teams that he's been with.

But as before we are dealing with rumour, and we've seen what that does for us already.

Think you're spot on about Lee Carsley. I liked him very much during his time at Everton. Good, honest and hardworking player, who gave his all for the team and also was very aware about his own limitations. If we're not able to replace him, I believe it will hunt us down over the course of the season. Once again, wouldn't mind Bullard one bit, but expect some top quality signings to be made alongside him.

Personally, I'll never forget the expression on Bullard's face after Big Dunc headbutted Paul Scharner at Wigan.

happy to be of assistance.
Reidy.................taking the words out of your mouth and saving your keyboard in the process and ALWAYS RIGHT :D
i think some of our fans are a bit snobbish and expect us to get the star players of every international team, if they play for a team below us then they obviously aren't good enough for us.
I remember a team we put out once and it contained about5 international captains.....
the rat
bob the pole
stephan reyne
preki
cant remember the other but i'm sure there were 5 on the pitch at once, and we were absolutely terrible, i may be wrong about which players cos a lot of hazy smoke has passed by in the interim but i know we had a load of skippers and no idea.

whatever it was it made me laugh!! not as much as the steffen freund assault at leicester i thought his eyes were goin to pop out even more funny was the signs he was introducing the leicester fans to.

Hmm, forgot about the name of that Leicester player. Know it was a German, but couldn't remember who. Thanks for clearing that up, mate.
