Jimmy Bullard

Let's face it. In an ideal world I'd have Moutinho, Fernandes, M'Bia etc. It looks like we can't afford much this summer. There's a lot of panic going around the Everton sites at the moment. I'd much rather have Bullard than the likes of Alan Smith for [Poor language removed] sake. We need a few reinforcements rather than wholesale changes, look at Spurs or the redshite, does spending buy trophies?

The only doubt I have about Bullard rests in the fact he's injury prone. In every other respect regarding what we need from a central midfielder, Bullard would improve this club.

To say he's not much better than Osman, if that is truly the case (I doubt Osman could have the same influence on the right at a Fulham that Bullard exerted last season in limited play.), doesn't matter. We need a central midfielder who can create and complete a pass to someone wearing an Everton shirt on a consistent basis. Bullard has routinely done that work for his clubs in his career. We certainly could've used that ability last weekend.

£3-4 million for Bullard is a good deal and would at least fill that gap that was so obvious against Blackburn.

But if you sign him, you are always taking a risk that he will not last even 2/3rds of a season. Considering the injuries, can you risk adding someone with such a history? Considering the available personnel in the centre midfield, can you afford not to take the chance?

i dont get this injury prone, he had a bad knee injury but thats about it isnt it ? as i said earlier he didnt miss a minute of play for wigan in about 3 years then got injured just after going to fulham, which kept him out for a while but he's been ok since then , hasn't he?

Can forget about Bullard, according to the Daily Post/Liverpool Echo.

EVERTON confirmed today that negotiations were still ongoing with Portuguese midfielder Tiago.
But the Blues have ruled out a deal for Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard.
Reports today claimed that Juventus midfielder Tiago had snubbed a move to Goodison, and that Bullard was on the verge of arriving for £4m.
But both stories have been rubbished.
