January Transfer Window 2026

How many full backs have we moved in and out? Obviously loads if Patterson is off and maybe also Aznou and then factoring in Mykolenko off in the summer.

I'll have to check the previous 10 or so pages, but to have got a starting LB and RB plus their cover is sensational.

Not even we would be that stupid to risk all the squad in the full back positions leave without replacing them - would we?

Yeah to be fair I didn’t see it that way. He can’t do two people’s jobs so that’s fair.
He does still need to go on loan/leave us though. For his own sake because he isn’t going to be given the games here regardless of him doing allright in his last few games.

And ultimately, we need better than doing allright. (But doing allright is better than what we have been seeing).

Patterson was out of position for the Leeds goal but I can’t deny he’s been good since he came back into the picture. It’s unfortunate for him that it’s just not worked out here.
I can’t say I’ve seen many Alexander Arnold crosses from him tbf. Isn’t that what everyone now expects? JOB can do the defending but it’s all about how many inch perfect crosses our full backs can deliver, not how many clean sheets we get, which is of interest these days

It naturally beggars the question how Brighton and Bournemouth etc are bringing through the talent they have.
It’s pretty well documented that managers at those clubs have little say in transfers. Their targets are identified through market leading data centers (Brighton in particular are the leader here, Mr Bloom owns the software or something so it’s exclusive to them in England) and less through traditional scouting.

A hard one to swallow for the old guard but it’s hard to argue with the results transfer wise.

He’s a much better player technically. We could do worse as a stop gap or a squad player. But I agree, he isn’t more than that and is on the wrong side of prime.

Personal think getting George in is the right move - age, pace, profile - see where that ends up as no doubt Chelsea will have put a £30+mill clause on him.

Lad can play left and right wing too

I mean that'd be true, if he wasn't also in the team when we get points and has had a few clean sheets too.

You can just say you despise his existence without beating around the bush mate, it's fine, we'll judge tho
