January Transfer Window 2026

Wilson is McNeil with brighter teeth and 2 years older though.

Dont get deceived by Wilson's form. Hes playing for a deal. He's only ever been a squad/bit part player for Fulham in the prem as hes very hit and miss.
He’s a much better player technically. We could do worse as a stop gap or a squad player. But I agree, he isn’t more than that and is on the wrong side of prime.

Why would we be going for Wilson ? We have enough midfielders, one we lashed £40million on and are scared to play, unless he was to be a replacement for N'diaye when he eventually gets sold which is just 🤡

Still no RB's seem to exist in the world for the club to sign
Did you not see Armstrong playing out wide on Saturday? It’s got nothing to do with Ndiaye potentially leaving in the future ,it’s more the fact that we have no one on the right atm who Moyes actually rates. Mcneil is shocking (and not a rw) and Dibling is work in progress.

I'm a Moyes supporter but am alarmed at the last month.

He's played Barry into form this season. Good.

Adnan, Rohl and Dibling look like signings for the future but out of step with the issues at FB, which affect us every game this session, and those lads barely play.

Without the freak wins at Villa and utd I think Moyes is on thin ice and the football in 1st halves vs Leeds and Brighton are Dyche level football.

I think Moyes is smart and can fix it,but I see nothing in this window helping that, so the message from Moyes and TFG has moved from to survive to stabilise.

That's a missed opportunity given the table and the sequence of games.

Making Europe VASTLY improves recruitment options.

It naturally beggars the question how Brighton and Bournemouth etc are bringing through the talent they have.
If Moyes was smart then we would have many more points. He is better than average but that is it I think.

For Dibling to progress he needs to get some time on the pitch. Moyes has driven him backwards since coming from Southampton.

Fair enough mate. You seem to think that Everton are singularly incompetent and we should have just signed a right back, full stop, no matter what. I disagree, but there is probably no way I'm changing your mind, so I'll leave it there.
I do think we are incompetent, yes, because we are, our scouting department is abysmal and we've got Moyes denying all transfers too. Every transfer window we've had since the Lukaku one (barring the PSR ones) have been a failure, yes.

I'm glad you think this is fine and we're doing a great job while failing to strengthen a weak squad with obvious holes in it and that cost us, opinions and all that. There is no way in the real world that there was absolutely no right or left back available, even on loan, in Europe, that was willing to come to the PL with the amount of money in it. Every team gets players from abroad ("some winger from the Israel league" or whatever) and then we crap ourselves when they're actually decent and can play a role, but we can't do that. The only player available this winter transfer window, to us, was Tyrique George, and we haven't finalised it yet and are leaving it for the last seconds and hoping the fax machine doesn't break down again.

Seems like you're looking for a reason to dislike a player and because you can't think of anything else you've settled on where he was for 2 seconds of a game.
I’ve never rated him. For a right back he’s consistently out of position and let’s also have it right, does little going forward.

Their fullback scored. Patterson tracked their forward into the box. He can’t mark their fullback making a run into the box as well, that falls onto our winger.

Patterson in centre of the box, on a man. Their man who scored is the one running in just at the very left of the screen. But yeah, that’s not McNeils man, sure

Yeah to be fair I didn’t see it that way. He can’t do two people’s jobs so that’s fair.
