January Transfer Window 2026

I think people want to temper their expectations of how great the summer window will be btw.

All this ‘let’s keep our powder dry and sign the players we really want’. The expectation that we’ll fix all the issues with the squad.

Let’s see how that goes.
I get the frustrations with the summer window as we still have some glaring deficiencies in certain positions, we also broke our transfer record for net spend and brought in a player albeit on loan that would not have been remotely feasible in past years so this notion it's just going to be another year of scraping by doesn't fully add up.

I know even though we spent notable amounts for us compared to other clubs it may not be significant, you have to take in that fact other clubs have higher revenues and routinely sell their best players to provide the means to increase their transfer budget so it's a start for us if we continue to build upon it.

I see Bobble's mate is giving the 'we'll go with what we've got', 'keep our powder dry' style nonsense.

Suggesting things haven't come to fruition. So we're done unless 'something comes up.'

Really, really poor from the club if true. Look at Fulham. Doing slightly better than us, in a position that is slightly better than the sum of their parts, and they go out and get more players for Silva. Mad really.

Which Wilson have they signed for £10m?

I'm happy with Barry over Abraham - far more upside, far more opportunity to develop.
McNeil was signed 4 years ago; very tough to hold him up as a comparison to any transfer made in this window.

Harry Wilson..

Popped on on Facebook that they had signed him for 10m from Fulham rather than waiting to get him for free in the summer ..

Has he not signed ?

Apologies if not … I’m in Aus and don’t get bbc … so could have been a blag post

Yes, they're not very good are they? In fact, with 3 of them it's almost as if we just brought them in as panic buys to get bodies into the squad and are now stuck with players who aren't contributing enough...
Mykolenko was bought because FSW sold our only left back, Patterson was bought because we’ve needed a right back forever, Aznou was bought because Mykolenko is turgid. None of them were panics.

On the window, Moyes says it is less likely that anyone will come in. He says the club is looking but at the moment it is looking set to be quiet.

He does not rule out players leaving, though.
so as expected few U21 players will leave on loan, i am guessing Armstrong too. And we wait till long after the deadline and no one come in and start reminding Matty1878 about his comments lol

They gave Silva nothing in the summer. We got 9 players in.
As much as fans think of it as Monopoly money, the club has to be more prudent. There’s going to be another clear out this summer and lots more to buy. Unless we can shift anyone this window then I’m not sure we can genuinely expect a greater squad than 22/23 players for the last 15 or so games, unless a genuine first choice pick comes available.
Would love to be wrong though
