Arteta inherited a decent squad at Arsenal far better than we had at the time,as soon as he struggled here the knives would have been out. That's not the argument, the argument is Arteta would of in theory looked at us as a longterm project and recruited with that in mind whilst Ancelotti saw us as a must win now project and lumbered us with ageing Allan, talented but dubious commitment James Rodriguez and Doucoure though Doucoure wasn't his suggestion according to rumour. It was a very short-term approach by Carlo (he also didn't want to develop the youth like Gordon either) so as soon as the wheels started falling off we ended up in a worse state
Possibly. We'll never know how it would of panned out but I stick to my view he would of been a much better fit than the vanity project of AncelottiArteta inherited a decent squad at Arsenal far better than we had at the time,as soon as he struggled here the knives would have been out.
It's okay Pete isn't always reliable and interest is a lot of distance from us signing himLiterally not a right back. Ffs
He’ll be at home here with a load of other players who have no interest in football.
Can’t see why he’d leave getting a title winners medal to come here though unless he misses the north
Isn’t he a centre back??
You mean the promises from Moshiri & Big Uzzy evaporated .That's not the argument, the argument is Arteta would of in theory looked at us as a longterm project and recruited with that in mind whilst Ancelotti saw us as a must win now project and lumbered us with ageing Allan, talented but dubious commitment James Rodriguez and Doucoure though Doucoure wasn't his suggestion according to rumour. Not sure really especially with his input in bringing in rubbish like Allan and lack of commitment Rodriguez. He'd of brought more rejects from his previous sides on ridiculous money so he could easily of crippled us tooYou mean the promises from Moshiri & Big Uzzy evaporated .
Another couple of transfer windows with the players he wanted in would have had us pushing at the top end.
Football is a weird industry, possibly the weirdest. This is a genuine question- what do our recruitment do. Several people have a full time job at Everton to find, and sign, players to improve the first team. I get that up to 12 months ago we were financially hamstrung and needed a lot of wheeling and dealing, scraping round for bargains. That’s not the case now. So since September 1st, to today, have our recruitment team been unable to identify a right back in all of the world to sign for us? In any other walk of life if you went to your boss and said ‘sorry, it’s a tricky time of year, so we’ve not hit any of our targets and we’ll just try again in 6 months time, but it might be hard then as well, so no guarantees’. You’d just be sacked!
Wait for the Tomas Soucek links...The only reason we would be looking at Ben White is the 'Pl experience' nonsense, honestly its getting very, very tiresome now.
