January Transfer Window 2026

Watching Rodriguez in an Everton shirt was probably my highlight of the last ten years. For a few games there, in the dark dispair of COVID, we were playing as good as anyone in the PL. Let me have that at least. The Dogs of War mentality grinds you down. It was nice to have " nice things" for a minute:)
This. As Keynes said we are all dead in the long run…

I don't know of course not. Ancelotti isn't my cuppa tea to be honest and he's never been a team builder but more of a man manager who works well with star players and big ego's
Well we'll never know will we .
He would never in a million years sign players like Dibling , Barry & Rohl that is a given.
He was specifically brought in to challenge at the top end , and until the Allen injury and the usual Everton other injuries & suspensions he had us right up there .
We won our opening 7 games and were 4th in the table at the turn of the year.
Finishing 10th , we were 3 pts off Europe and only 7 pts off Champions lge.
2 or 3 Ancelotti signings we would have been flying ( like Villa now )

So give me a man manager and star players with ego's right now please.

Cos this "team building" aint working.

I'm desperate for us to bring almost anyone in for FB, but let's be clear, he isn't a proper RB (also agree with the comments that he seems a bit of a 🔔). He's really a centre back and it would be like a better version of playing JOB there.

It really should be Holm. Suits what Moyes wants, but also what we need, is a good enough player to increase in value and be played under future managers if they want a progressive style. Is also versatile - has played in midfield loads of times and even filled in a LB a handful of times and done okay. Worth investing money in. Ultimately, we will need more than one RB come the summer, so if we get him and find a better one then, so be it. Competition for places.

Even Norton-Cuffy would be okay and could play in front of JOB if Moyes is having one of his uber defensive games.

LB is harder. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure who is out there who we could get, but there must be some.

But get off your arses Angus and co. we must bring in some players ASAP!
Shocked at even getting a rb this window at this point need be pushing players out of the door. And well an effort to bring in a rb for the next game so we can move patterson on. So frustrating watching this club off the pitch dont even ask for that much

I dont see a team

As its the transfer window and judging by the level of player we've attracted over the last couple, especially the strikers I'm currently wondering where we sit in the pantheon of clubs when it comes to this generation of players.

If you grade it in tiers where...

TIER 1- regular title winners / challengers/ CL last 16, there's probably 12 clubs in Europe in this category. Real, barca, city, arsenal, psg, them(sadly)

We're no where near this tier

TIER 2- top4 challengers/ CL regulars/EL challengers if they're in it.
Ie- Newcastle, villa,

We're no where near here either

TIER 3 European football regulars (El/conference) top half finishers, Brighton comedy to mind.

I dont think we are in this TIER either.

I think at the moment we are in the TIER below

What players can we get who are happy with an brief outside chance of Europe, no cup run? we have to take punts. Sometimes it works ie skillman, garner etc. Sometimes we get beto and barry.
