January Transfer Window 2026

Kalvin Phillips, apparently?

Would be typical if he went for him, I suppose.
I did see that the other day but wrote it off straight away mate. It never worked at West Ham for him under Moyes and I see no reason why it would now tbh. It would also be a surefire way of getting the fans on his back as I don't think it would be a popular move in general, even as a loan.

All depends on the structure of the deal. One thing to think about for future purposes, he’d qualify for homegrown status for European football.

Loan with a relatively small fee at the end of it - good business?

20m + - must be better out there.

I just think its ridiculous mate - that we've invested so much in new structures, scouting and recruitment and the best option we could come up with in the whole of world football as a full aback is a lad who is literally from our own academy.

We dropped a clanger selling in the first place, we would absolutely compound it paying anything for him, as hes a stone throw away from his his 30's and is beginning to pick up injuries.

Its really an uninspiring, unambitious and deflating piece of recruitment if it cam to pass on a number of fronts IMO..

Any new players brought in in January will get cameos at most, even if we buy “starting” players there is zero chance the manager plays them straight away, unless they have been kicking a football in Britain since they could walk.
Using the loan market would be the ideal solution, keeping funds for summer. There really ought to be a lot of players itching for game time with a World Cup in a few months

Conor Gallagher on loan with an obligation is one I've heard doing the rounds.
Won't be leaving Atletico till the summer, he has fallen out of favour somewhat as Simeone has gone slightly more with a possession based style but the club are not looking at doing any ins/outs during the winter window (It was on a Euro football thing I listened too the other day)

Just heard it doing the rounds mate and thought it sounded like something wed look at - was thinking from his point of view hed be thinking of the World Cup, while an obligation may give Atletico a bit of certainty financially in planning.

Yeah, he's a busy player. When all are back though do we need another MF over a FB or CF?

I guess its what available mate, id say we wanted full backs in the summer - but id say they weren't happy with who was on the market.

Id prob go for a different central midfilder myself, but that's one in Gallagher i thought could be one that would interest Moyes.
