Some nice goals and hold up play on there, makes him look tailor made for the prem. my one massive concern would be what on Earth is wrong with the lad if they think Beto is a better option?

Thing with Dovbyk is that he is 28 and has had one good season. Top scorer in La Liga with 24 goals (7 pens) for Girona. Impressing the Friedkins enough to pay 6 times the price he was sold for the previous summer.

He's not been good for Roma and the current head coach doesn't rate him. Overprized, overpaid and without any real resell value. Just like Beto.

Dovbyk needs a move. Same with Beto. And Beto has been half decent in Serie A. I don't think it'll happen, but it could make some sense.

Pretty sure its been said that Friedkins want to run Everton and Roma separately and try to avoid or limit doing business between the clubs. As such business potentially could cause issues with UEFA in the future.

….where strikers are concerned, I do tend to look back across a career for goals/games ratio and the season you highlight might be highest profile but he’s had some decent returns throughout his time. Not great but just looks a bit more straightforward, less complicated than we have;

They mentioned his goals to game to ratio as being decent but said he's such a rancid player it's like playing with 10 men

If anything that makes me want him even more.

He wouldnt be the first player to struggle in Italy, but that league isn't what it once was so if your picking up a striker from there, I'd want them to be hitting closer to 20 than 10.

Dovbyk if it’s a straight swap for Beto would be very good business.

He can look after the ball, he’s strong as a bull, and he can finish.

He's not quick though, so we’d need to get some pace in the wide areas.

If this is a work around that gives us more movement with other transfers, it’s a no brainer for that reason too.

Doubt it tbh, if it is then its slightly worrying/poor as he is hardly a massive upgrade on Beto.
