This site at this point basically consists of the same 5 conversations happening on a constant loop, because people who try to challenge popular opinion or make any kind of deeper analysis get immediately dismissed and shut down.I think that's a bit over the top.
I will read and respect someones 'stats' analysis, although I dont agree with how thats looked at.
That possibly will be where football chat progresses too in the future, but it will be about as entertaining as speaking to a BOT.
It wont be a game anymore once it hits that point.
Like I said I will read and respect someones view, wether I agree or not. I might then respond. Which is a debate. This site at this point basically consists of the same 5 conversations happening on a constant loop, because people who try to challenge popular opinion or make any kind of deeper analysis get immediately dismissed and shut down.
To me that feels more like taking to bots than what you're describing, which just sounds like having nuanced conversation using all the information available.
He works for them i thinkDi Marcio said the same today
Fully agree. It's not about wanting everybody to have the same opinion, forums are all about having as many different views as possible.Like I said I will read and respect someones view, wether I agree or not. I might then respond. Which is a debate.
Stick just a 100 prople on this site that are solely based on stats, their won't be a debate because they will all be reading the same stat sheet.
Different outlooks create conversations, debates. The same outlook eventually creates silence.
The intensity of different outlooks gets way too far, so I agree with you on that. It shouldn't hit a point where it moves to anger and personal attacks.
Best thing is I've never played FM in my lifeWasting your time trying to get through to older posters on this site with this kind of analysis. Will inevitably always end with you getting called a video game playing virgin, without any actual counter-argument being offered.
Tbh there's certain people on here who seem to be insulted by the idea that someone else might have put more thought into watching Everton than they have, because after all they've been watching the game for x amount of years and they just 'know' football.
It's incredibly boring and limits conversations that can be had on here to surface level observations. People have a right to debate the validity of certain aspects of xg and similar data, but it is a fact that this is how every top flight club in the world is viewing and analysing football. The reflex responses of 'I watch a game with my eyes thanks' and 'go back to fm' etc, say more about people blindly clinging on to a version of football that hasn't existed for 10-15 years now.
For what it's worth I've had some really interesting conversations with you because we come at things from different viewpoints but it's always relaxed and friendly.Like I said I will read and respect someones view, wether I agree or not. I might then respond. Which is a debate.

KOne got a hat trick against Sunderlandtony cottee too
cant remember any striker in recent times
who had hat tricks for us except lukaku?
Mo Besic's biggest contribution in his time with us.Wasn’t that one left foot, one right foot and one header?!
Scored double figures every season for us in a weaker team, depends on the price but he would be a great addition in January. Anyway I cant see it as he is too important to Spurs regardless of what their fans are saying...The problem is he'll be expensive and if we are going to spend decent money on a striker I'd hope our scouts can do a better job than settling for a player who has failed at the higher level just because he was a fan favourite who 'gets' us
Was thinking more about decent cover option for afcon and would allow rohl to be eased back to full fitnessNot for me unless there's an inexplicably cheap option to buy.
He doesn't fix any of our current problems in midfield so all we'd be doing is developing him for utd
