James McCarthy

Has made a grand total of 19 appearances in all competitions for us since the beginning of the 16/17 season, with only 6 of them being since August 2017...

Fail to see how anyone could suggest we keep him.

We’ll struggle to give him away for free tbh
Agreed. First season he was absolutely unreal. Since he's been...well... injured.

Shame but he needs to move on.

I disagree. I think he deserves a chance and, with Gomes out for the next 3 games, he should imho get a place on the bench. Then, when the game has been won or lost (depending on which Everton turn up) he could be given the last 15 minutes, last 30 minutes and full second half to see how he goes.

Seventh has all but gone - not that I really wanted it anyway - and we need to look at who we want to keep for next season and who we want to move on. I hope we can all agree that, when fit, Jimmy Mac is some player. Let's give him a chance to show it. If the broken leg has limited his full ability then, yes, let's move him on in a dignified manner and with our thanks for his service when fit. But just maybe he might surprise a few and prove to be well worth keeping.

If fit and playing well, a 4-3-3 with a front 6 of

Mcarthy Gomes Gueye

Richy/DCLor ANOTHER/Bernard

Would give us bite and creativity in midfield and a potentially potent strike force.

Hoping he plays with Gomes out.
Off your rocker lad! His knees are a walking timebomb.

Like when Kyle had a negroplasty on South Park to become a black basketball player, but his knees exploded after they used Mr Garrison's recently-removed testes (after his vaginaplasty) to form his new knees. An explosion was unavoidable, just like Wee James' knees could give way at any given moment!

Why has 7th already gone?
And why isn't Siggy in your line up.?.?

His last injury was a broken leg wasn't it?

That does paint a misleading picture as he has been sidelined with a compound double fracture of his leg.

I have not seen anybody pointing out that Seamus went without playing a game for nearly a year.

I can see why you’d make that comparison given the similarity of the injury.

But Coleman is not usually an injury prone player. McCarthy on the other hand:

That’s a weird knee problem for a broken leg.

I maintain that McCarthy is one of the top midfielders at the club. Hopefully he recovers from injury.
