2025/26 Jack Grealish

I think it'll be a bigger than normal loan fee, say 10 mil ish maybe with some clauses, then he joins us on a free the following summer.

I'd take that, there is no other way we could get finished article talent like that.

Hels been amazing for us. A real star.

I'm just not sure now: injuries versus starts.

We're overly sentimental at Everton and we need to start being a lot more hard ball.

Obviously Moyes isn't the most adventurous manager in the game but this notion that he doesn't make tweaks is absurd , in fact one of my gripes this season is that our attacking approach is less direct and involved more of a build up than the previous season so he can adopt changes, are they the revolutionary ones that you're awaiting? Probably not but he can adapt if needed he usually waits until injury force his hand or other major factors
Im not saying he never changed anything. The fact of the matter is he’s been playing what amounts to a 4-4-1-1 for close to 25 years now. That’s just what he does.

But he could have broken his leg in the first week and missed the entire season. Would Moyes be to blame then.

Yes another 8 games of Jack would be fantastic. But there’s no guarantee this would have happened.

Your argument is based on hypothetical what ifs.

What if he did ACL in October. Would you then send the dogs for Moyes then?

he’s averaged 77mins per appearance in the league this season. So it’s not like he’s not getting rest at the end of games.

No mate, it's based on observation that the lad was struggling for fitness by the time we hit winter. There were a lot more poster than me who had noticed it and said so at the time.

Anyway, it's done and we have to hope we can still get up the table without him, but this is very obviously at least in part down to managing talent poorly.

Great shouts mates turned Arnautovic into a CL player from Stoke via him to Inter.

Antonio was a winger when he got there if my memory is right.

It’s interesting watching Harrison Armstrongs development now.

Just to get back on topic Grealish is a good player, high quality but I’m on record as saying I think he’s passed his best and at times slows our break in play - which in turn impacts the forwards.

One thing with Moyes is he sometimes stumbles on innovative solutions when he’s forced to when missing players.
To add to that I'll put my neck on the line and say we might be a better team without him.
It will be interesting to see the stats when we have equal games he's played in and the same number he's missed.
I can see why City let him go on leave and Tucel isn't a fan, by the time he lets the ball go the penalty area is chocka block with players.

Or...we don't have runners breaking lines, pace, and he prefers to keep the ball when there's nothing on?

The lad is 3rd in assists in the league for a team 14th in goals scored and 5th for chances created.

I dunno what the argument is over his "over playing". He's 30 years old!! Gueye is 36...and besides, he had a nice break when he got sent off and missed the following game.
