2025/26 Jack Grealish

Big miss for us
Brings a calm when he holds the ball and so good at drawing fouls and the free kicks that follow
100%, the way Moyes sets us up, having him hold the ball and allow others to get involved and also win freekicks allowing us to get in the box is absolutely essential.

Big eyes on Moyes now and how he adapts to this loss. It simpy will not work with Dwight in a direct swap.

Yes David Moyes who has played the same general formation for the better part of 25 years is going to figure out something new
Obviously Moyes isn't the most adventurous manager in the game but this notion that he doesn't make tweaks is absurd , in fact one of my gripes this season is that our attacking approach is less direct and involved more of a build up than the previous season so he can adopt changes, are they the revolutionary ones that you're awaiting? Probably not but he can adapt if needed he usually waits until injury force his hand or other major factors

I’m not so sure, it doesn’t look like some detailed build play worked on the training ground, The back 4 still Go
Long all the time as does Pickford,
The only thing that has changed is getting the ball to the feet of
Grealish and Ndiaye a bit more

It’s really shameful that if Jack is ill, injured or does not perform, so many posters start bringing up drinking.

If he broke his foot at training, alcohol has zero to do with it. Don’t know what the obsession is with people painting him in such a bad light all the time for what he may or may not have done in the past.
Spot on!

Agree with you and others. He still likes his beer. When he sat out the City game he took the opportunity to pop over to Dubai for a bit of winter sun, and getting absolutely rat-arsed in an Irish pub. Nothing too scandalous, but the gossip pages were full of stories about him being nice to people, paying for lunches etc. And then promptly passing out on one of the benches until a local fixer came in and carried him back to his hotel. This is a bit of a regular pattern with him as well.

He's 30, and I don't see him playing at the top level for much longer. I felt much the same when Rooney returned. Players like Ronaldo who really look after themselves can continue longer - 40 in his case (okay he's a bit of an outlier). End of the day I don't think we can justify the transfer fee and hefty wages to make it a permanent move, especially not at the numbers being quoted.

It's not a great look for us as a club looking for a new start if we're prepared to throw a lot of money at Grealish now.

He's been great for us but we cant be seen as the destination for fading stars as we once were.

New era now.

Yet if Moyes did this you’d be on the David Moyes thread bashing him calling for him to leave

No. I was calling for a rest period for the last 5 weeks or so.

I repeat: I'm not being wise after the event. I posted a lot of times on the need for Grealish to be handed a rest and it's been proven 100% to have been the correct analysis - he SHOULD have been. Moyes continued to play him and play him and play him.
