2025/26 Jack Grealish

As much as I'd want him back, you have to be very careful with the fee coming off a bad injury. 30m for a 30 plus year old who had a stress fracture is not smart business. We would need the fee to be more reasonable.
It's a foot, though, not a knee or a hamstring. He'll come back fine.

They do, absolutely. But Everton never seem to be firing on all cylinders when it comes to key or star players. There is always at least one out, usually for a medium to long term.

I know what you mean, but (when available) his composure under pressure on the ball, and distribution, has to factor into the value for money calculation. If this injury meant we didn’t go for him again, that composure and distribution would need to be replaced. And it ain’t cheap.

I’d imagine the player doesn’t want to go back to City as he’s been vocal about loving it being a toffee.

I’d use this as leverage. Everton will pick up his wages and rehab as a stress fracture is a straight forward injury to recover from but we will do a deal now and support the player.

Clearly if we are not contractually obliged to pay him we just deduct wages from the fee.

It would make Grealish feel the love, show intent to our summer transfer targets and help us plan our squad for next year.
