2025/26 Jack Grealish

I don't know if 'Pep ruined him or Mykolenko is dragging him down to League One level' but he's been poor a while now.

He should be the catalyst, but he's been phoning it in as far as I can see.

Understand why Ndiaye would be miffed moving out of his best position tbh.

Hopefully he can show some consistency second half of season.

Someone's paid him £500k for Chelsea and last night. He should be doing better.

He could try beating his man
Tbf though.. then do what? He can't exactly take on 6 players then do a rabona into the top corner. He'll know full well than any good work by him will almost certainly come to nothing if he then sends the ball in the direction of Barry or Beto.

Ndiaye is a better player than Grealish and he is the only one in the squad that can produce genuine moments of magic. Jack can combine well with Dewsbury-Hall, but aside from that he doesn't really have much of a chance with this set-up.

It must be so disheartening.

Rightly or wrongly, it's not a part of his game because, from what I can see, he lacks the acceleration to often get past a man.

Instead, he slows the game down and draws the opposition in, with his ability to lay the ball off very well or jink into space and play the pass.

The issue we have is the like of Mykolenko isn't going to complete the overlaps or make those precision runs that he would feed all game.

You can say the same with our front-line. He looks a much better player when KDH and NDiaye because they have the intelligence to read his game.

That's not defending Jack entirely because I think he does need to at least attempt it, but importantly we bought him with those qualities so...

.. we should be making the most out of them.

I’m asking him to take on one player and open a defense up even slightly. Ndiaye does it weekly.

He needs to play in the inside channel more then. He can’t pull wide into the positions that require beating a man and never do it.

Ndiaye is much better than Grealish though. His feet are quicker, he's got more pace, he's got more skills. Grealish excels with superior thinking and seeing a pass where others don't (thinking about his dinked assist for Dewsbury-Hall), winning set pieces, being harder to shrug off the ball.

I agree though he could attempt more take-ons and he's more teens capable of it.

It would still come to nothing though.

Ok so then Grealish doesn’t need to play every minute of every match.
