Our manager doesn’t seem to think Dibling is good enough to play in his own position on the right, let alone in a position he’s never played in his life.
I think we should’ve done what every competent club did in the summer and signed flexible forward players that can play in more than one position to cover for this exact scenario. Ndiaye isn’t an option because he is on international duty, we knew about this international tournament a long time ago and seemingly did nothing to plan for it in the summer. McNeil isn’t an option because he is pants.
Our summer window was a disaster.
Right so we should of bought a raft of players just as cover players for scenarios that happen infrequently during a season and see our finances become restricted in future transfer windows as a result? Or buy these mythical flexible forward players who are happy to sit on the bench all season apart from a couple of games during AFCON or when
Grealish needs a rest. McNeil was first choice last season so
Moyes obviously has some faith in him as a squad player.
Dibling is a talented young player who
Moyes needs to trust more. Instead of your idea of bloating the squad maybe a better solution is for Moyes to trust the reserve players especially the young players more. Unlike you I'm not making a definitive judgement on the likes of
Dibling and
Aznou until they've actually been given a proper chance
