2025/26 Jack Grealish

Need to watch the hamstring but he has been bench warming for years at Man. City so think he's relishing just playing on a weekly basis again and probably got another 4-5 years left at the top level so every match counts.

I also think in back of Moyes mind no Grealish or Ndiaye against even Wolves standard team and it could be embarrassing result given the struggle to score goals when both are playing so only breather I can see him getting is FA Cup and sure people will debate the rights and wrongs if that is the decision.

Grealish needs saving from his own enthusiasm to play then, because he's looked tired and well off anything like the sort of form from two months or so ago.

Rest him up for Burnley and / or Wolves. If we cant handle them without Grealish we need to pack it in anyway.

The game against Sunderland is a must win IMO: we need to progress in the cup or this season will peter-out from early January. A rested Jack Grealish will be required for that and hopefully we have Ndiaye back by then too.

That is QF stage in AFCON so would be very surprised if Senegal get knocked out before then. Not sure we'll see him or Gana before even Villa game.

McNeil has barely played this season so again it's a stretch to think he's suddenly going to be starting every three days. He'll give the best effort he can but feels like the last six months has started to move past his general level.

I was hoping Dibling would've shown more by now. That is the disappointment of the season so far in that he's barely done anything so far.

He had a poor game but so did the rest of our attacking players. Barry, Alcaraz and McNeil were shocking. Add to the fact that Mykolenko did a solid job defensively but offered no support to Grealish going forward. It was always going to be a tough night for him.

It was frustrating as Arsenal weren't great but we were missing NDiaye and KDH who are a big step up from their replacements and also open things up for Jack to do what he does.

He could try beating his man

Grealish really isn’t the problem.

Grealish really isn’t the problem.
It's not about whether he's 'the problem' or not

But it also illustrates his performances, or at least his creative output, has dipped in the last few months, despite people laughing at me for saying it

He's effectively gone from creating 3 chances per game up until October, to now creating 1 a game

Right so we should of bought a raft of players just as cover players for scenarios that happen infrequently during a season and see our finances become restricted in future transfer windows as a result? Or buy these mythical flexible forward players who are happy to sit on the bench all season apart from a couple of games during AFCON or when Grealish needs a rest. McNeil was first choice last season so Moyes obviously has some faith in him as a squad player. Dibling is a talented young player who Moyes needs to trust more. Instead of your idea of bloating the squad maybe a better solution is for Moyes to trust the reserve players especially the young players more. Unlike you I'm not making a definitive judgement on the likes of Dibling and Aznou until they've actually been given a proper chance

Erm. Yes? Thats what a squad is, that’s what everyone else has?

Righteo Mike. Let's forget the fact we've been skint and have just recovered from some serious financial mismanagement and just start the process again of filling the squad with cover players who ultimately are no better than what we have. Instead we've improved the quality of the team with Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall and have bought in young players with potential which is a better policy than buying overpaid ageing dross like your suggestion of Josh Brownhill. Our main issue is the full back areas which we really have neglected badly. Upfront Barry is starting to look better now and the big disappointment is how Beto who let's not forget was scoring a fair few under Moyes last season has now become the poor striker of the Dyche era. The real issue at the moment is Moyes reluctance to trust in players like Dibling and Aznou especially as you say he knew Ndiaye was going away for AFCON. Ideally Dibling would of had games under his belt and would of been more ready to replace Ndiaye but Moyes hasn't given him any chance to get into any rhythm or confidence. Finally we've just lost to 2 sides who are miles ahead of us but before that we were in good form so there's no need to start cryarseing about the 'poor' summer recruitment just because we've lost twice to 2 sides who have had proper investment and so can have massive squads which we can't at this point

These stats are a load of BS in my opinion as chances created is very subjective indeed

He had 20 at the end of October. He has 10 in the last 8 matches. Teams have gotten to grips with what his game is and it has become easier to contain.

Who should play instead of him?

He's had no game time and that's down to the manager.

That's easily remedied though: you start playing him.
