It's been a good season...

I’m with the OP. Surely now, if he’s serious, the Mosh must realise the recruitment staff, Manager and team are just a symptom of the disease of losing that stems from the top down.
As much as I’ll always admire Bill Kenwright for being a great blue, I’d have admired him more if he’d have held his hands up and admitted that we’re stagnant with him and others there.
I wonder if Moshiri was waiting for them to leave in their own time or if he had an agreement with them to stay and help for a little while.
The leadership is shocking which is clear in our transfer dealings alone, even our sponsor is suspect at best.
Sharpen your axe Moshiri

...I did say last season that sometimes it has to get worst before it gets better. I was thinking about the inevitable departures of Lukaku and Barkley as key first teamers, but the failures in the transfer market have actually compounded that.

I’m still looking over our shoulder in the league as opposed to looking forward and admit to still feeling a bit nervous but the transfer dealings and lack of playing strategy are the core of the problem so those associated with that have to be culpable.

So clearly it hasn't been, but if you were told we had to go through this process to force the hand of Moshiri into getting rid of Walsh, Kenwright, Elstone and a clearout of the squad would you have accepted it?

The season is a write off and has been the worst I remember for a while in terms of how much of a mess we appear to be on and off the field, so I'm starting to look ahead to possible positives. As long as the names mentioned above are gone, along with Allardyce at the end of the season and we have a clear plan going forward then it hasn't been in vain.

What other positives can you see resulting from our poor season?

Positives for me, We could have found a manager to take us forward and make us hard to beat again given time and funds

Niasse being Niasse

Rooney proving a lot of people wrong that he was past it

Finding our number 1 for the next 10 years

Seeing Niasses face every time he scores is wonderful and I'm glad he has been given a chance. He reminds me of one of those kids in a Comic relief video where the aid truck comes rolling into town, it's that level of excitement he demonstrates.

What am I missing re Walsh?

Which of his signings get peoples goat? Schneiderlin?

I think we need to sign a couple of centre backs to replace Williams and jags and a decent left back and then we will have a decent side.

Lookman, Pickford, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Rooney, Walcott, Vlasic, Henry all look like good signings already.

Keane is improving with every match.

Sandros signing wasn't slated by anyone before he got here and we look like makin g a profit on him anyway.

Martina was koemans signing.

Klassen I just think isn't quite there but there's definitely at the very least, a lower end premier league player there somewhere. Might just be a confidence issue.

Schneiderlin, think he's been scapegoated to some extent but has definitely seen his form dip. The fact its a dip in form and not a lack of talent means it cant be laid at walsh's door.

The hate he gets is weird quite frankly.

We started the season with no LB and no centreforward. Klaasenn and Sandro couldn’t get in the side under 3 managers. Williams and Keane are utter carthorses. Tosun isn’t even fit for the prem yet.

Klaassen did play semi regularly at the start. And looked ok against albeit limited opposition.

Keane has looked more like the player I was expecting lately.

Think tosun showed some good touches in his first game and was isolated in the second. Certainly cant write him off yet.

Niasse, Kenny, Holgate, hopefully Lookman and Vlasic too. Walcott is a great addition with at least 2 years left at the top of his game. Rooney has done well all things considered.

If it took a god awful season (which ultimately ended with us finishing in europa league position) to rid us of Koeman, Walsh, Elstone, Kenwright and Allardyce, I'd take that all day long.

Unfortunately I think Kenwright and Elstone and Walsh will be stinking out the gaff for years to come yet.

We might finish 7th

Elstone will not leave
Walsh will still be there
Moshiri will look poor compared to what the other clubs are now investing
The stadium may fall through
Allardyce will still be manager next season
And we still won't have a new LB
