Abu Marzouk said the tunnels are “meant to protect us” from Israeli aircraft and facilitate attacks on Israeli targets.
“Us” meaning Hamas. Not civilians.
Hamas chooses not to build bomb shelters in Gaza because that would undercut its ability to use the population as human shields.

What are you on about? Hamas exist because of the brutal Israeli occupation. The Israeli government kills many, many more Palestinians annually than Hamas terrorists kill Israelis.
Hamas were elected as nothing else was working, the world watched on as Israel broke international law EVERY DAY by taking land, blockading the people of Gaza for nearly 20 years (they, Israel, said who and what was allowed in and out of Palestine, they were prisoners in their own tiny enclave of what was left of their country) and the world did nothing to help. Hamas offered a voice, politically initially - they are freedom fighters to the people of Palestine against an occupying army.
Israel had killed many hundreds of innocent Palestinians in 2023 up to October 6th- you couldnt care less.
What about the west bank attacks- no Hamas...

The US can't be seen to support a terrorist organisation. Nor should they.
Bear in mind the October 7th attacks weren't just Hamas, they were orchestrated by several other Palestinian Militant Groups.

Because they've all been cancelled by Hamas for one reason or another. So it's not really wham is it.
I've not mentioned anyone in this thread 'supports' Hamas, although i've seen the phrase 'freedom fighters' bandied about. As for innocent Palestinians, of course nobody wants them to die - like you, i've seen nobody outwardly supporting the death of innocent civilians.
