It’s clear there’s a total disconnect between the White House and Israel. Biden has repeatedly claimed that they’re close to a ceasefire, yet these statements have consistently fallen through. The whole situation is giving giving Nixon/Vietnam/Anna Chennault affair vibes

This isn't a new phenomenon. Remember when, after Obama signed the JCPOA, Netanyahu invited himself to a joint session of Congress and openly urinated over the very idea of the deal and got a raptorous reception from both sides?
The sad fact is that the lobby in the US is excessively powerful at the best of times and in an election as balanced as this one is, you would have to be either a very brave politician or journalist (Tlaib and a few other squad members) to go against it or stupid. I would love to see someone like Biden come out and say that, as much of a Zionist that he is, that the current Israeli regime is leading the entire country (and potentially the region / world) into an abyss but noone is going to put their heads above the parapet at least before November.

It certainly appears that whilst he was giving that speech the IDF were blowing up a block in Beirut, trying to kill Nasrallah.
He and his terrible government are actively trying to stoke a war, and if they are not stopped they will start one sooner rather than later with these ever-increasing outrages. Hence they should be stopped, ideally by the states that claim to be friendly to them.
That’s the top two Hezbollah heads of sheds taken out in a week.
Money talks.
If the targets are being taken out with such regularity, it suggests at least to me, the terrorist networks have been infiltrated and undercover ops are signalling for strikes to cut the heads off the hydra.
Makes you wonder if Mossad can easily infiltrate Hezbollah why didn’t they adopt the same approach to dealing with Hamas?
Instead they chose to carpet bomb Gaza.
That does suggest the other rather nastier possibility though.

They regularly take out the leadership cadres, and regularly discover that the successors are much tougher opponents.
Remember when they took out Yassin and al-Rantisi within a few months of each other and said that it was a body-blow to Hamas? Hamas were running the Gaza Strip within a few years of those killings.
