They regularly take out the leadership cadres, and regularly discover that the successors are much tougher opponents.

Remember when they took out Yassin and al-Rantisi within a few months of each other and said that it was a body-blow to Hamas? Hamas were running the Gaza Strip within a few years of those killings.

The point I was making is their ability to target and strike individuals at will. If they have/had this capability then why did they need to turn Gaza into a car park.

TBF I think Gaza is a perfect example of targeting and striking individuals at will, much more so than it is mindless area devastation.

The reason why it looks like mindless area devastation is because of the volume of who the individuals are they have been targeting are - in essence these are not in the main "Hamas terrorists" so much as they are teachers and educators, doctors and medical staff, local government workers, imams and so on plus the buildings they need to keep society in a healthy functioning state; thousands of these people exist and many have been taken out (along with their families). This is who their "Lavender" AI probably tracks and targets, with the aim of collapsing civil society in Gaza (or at least making it so likely to collapse that the population will bail on it).

It is to me one of the clearest evidences of the Israeli government's policy of genocide, and one can make the argument that this war on the prominent has been going on for a long time.
