There's this thing that happened after October 7, which is the levelling of Gaza by the Israelis. There's zero chance of getting those people to accept the legitimacy of an Israeli government, now. States choosing to recognize Palestine are just acknowledging the facts on the ground.

er… pro-Palestinian people (females and males) used to go into Gaza all the time and were universally welcomed. There were a lot of Western aid workers and medics there too. I struggle to think of one occasion when they have come to harm from Palestinians, though of course the occupation has killed and maimed several.
As for the rest, I don’t think even you believe what you are writing here. The path Israel is on will lead, probably within a decade or two, to the end of the Israeli state as it currently exists. I just hope you’ll recognise your own small role in all that when it happens.

Kids were ignorant of the Israeli intimidation campaigns in the West Bank. They didn't grasp how a population could put up with terrorists hiding out in hospitals and other designated areas.
They did have the sense not to think the IDF was entirely comprised of its worst miscreants, or that every Gazan was a Hamas psychopath. Also, once they were aware that the people in Gaza were stateless captives in an open air prison, they started to understand hate (and were frankly surprised at the restraint of the Gazans).
What a difference a decade or two makes.
The math certainly suggests it will lead to a security problem the IDF can never handle. Netanyahu et al have jammed all in on deporting the Gazans. If those efforts fail, it's hard to see how the Israelis won't be screwed when presently starving Gazan kids are old enough to aim a gun.

Their failure is pretty much guaranteed at this point.
It is astounding hubris for Netanyahu et al to think that they can force their own allies into destroying their own interests, the system of international relations they benefit from, their own internal political stability and to pick up the tab for it all in exchange for less than nothing.
Netanyahu is claiming - ahead of the ICJ judgement that almost certainly is going to go against them this afternoon - that no power on Earth can stop them. The Israeli government need to find out that there is, with diplomatic and economic pressure from the entire world being the first step.
