Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

They'll hide behind the principle of sovereignty, and claim they cannot force another nation to comply with international law. That does run smack into all of the times Western nations have deployed troops to force compliance with something (not necessarily international law).

Then again, someone circa Kennedy/Johnson had the bright idea to give the Israelis nukes, and to date no one has been brazen enough to invade a nuclear weapons state.
We need more South Africas ! Other nations to step and tell the hard truths.

Do not hold your breath.

Biden calls ICC prosecutor's request for arrest of Israeli officials 'outrageous'

Joe Biden has objected to the international criminal court chief prosecutor Karim Khan’s request for arrest warrants against prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials as “outrageous”. “The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous. And let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence – none – between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security,” the US president said in a statement.

Let's go Brandon.

The reaction to these arrest warrants just proves how justified they are. They are also pretty limited in scope for the Israelis too, with plenty of room for escalation in several areas - especially when the ICJ finishes its judgement.

This should present a grand opportunity for the non-US states (that up to this point have granted some degree of support to the current Israeli government) to get off that bus.

I'm not that clued up about a lot of this, but could any of that countries that are members of the ICC actually refuse to arrest Netanyahu if he traveled there?

What are their options here? Many countries have given Israel the ultimate blind eye treatment and allowed them to get to where they're at now with nearly 40,000 civilians dead, they probably deeply regret doing literally nothing to stop Israel having seen the anger amongst their population.

Do these countries, Germany, UK et al, come out and say they will not follow the courts order if it comes? Do they quit as members of the ICC as they are so loyal to Israel? Do they begrudgingly accept the ruling and would they even follow it if he were to travel to one of said countries?

Would the warrants remain open essentially forever or until the ICC revokes them?

Or will the US, despite not being a member of the ICC, still wield so much power through retaliatory threats that the judges don't issue the judgement?

With him being wanted for genocide, and with 75% of the world or whatever it is being a member of the ICC, having agreed to its rules and agreeing to follow them, are countries that have so far given endless aid and ammunition to Israel really going to continue doing so in light of it's President being a wanted man?

We know a lot of the western powers and the US only seem to care about deaths of non Palestinians. So when Biden is saying there is no equivalence between the IDF and Hamas, is he ignoring the world kitchen workers who were deliberately targeted by Israel?
