I think Biden’s words are genuinely shocking but it does seem for the American voter that this is the very definition of Hobsons choice . There is no well I hope Biden loses and Bernie wins , it’s a shoot out between Biden and trump there is simply no other choice .

You can criticise Biden , and you’d be right to do so , wish they’d chose another candidate or whatever but if you want him to lose you’re picking the even more pro-Israel candidate who praises the far right , tried to overturn an election , introduced a ‘Muslim ban ‘ , orchestrated the overturning of roe v wade . I mean I could definitely go on , but there is simply no choice .

I feel for Americans particularly those of the Muslim faith or those who sympathise, as surely most must , with the horrors of Gaza but I feel like saying I hope they both lose is childish and avoiding the issue .

This is a fight between two political forces who are the exact same in their geo-political outlook and they're in lock-step on that.

That they may disagree on domestic policy in one way or another means nothing to me as I'm not an American.

Just yesterday for example, look at how seemingly hell bent the Republicans are on revenge against the ICC for having the audacity to try and get an arrest warrant for somebody that's overseen the killing of over 40,000 civilians.

Yes the Democrats are insane too particularly Biden with his 'ironclad' support for Israel, it's actually just so weird, but like others have said, probably the lesser of two really bad evils.

Even if Trump wasn't here, the Republican party is so messed up, so OTT pro-Israel, there would just be another in his place that'd give them freedom to continue their genocide.

Both parties are absolutely diabolical though, much like in the UK.
